Smith is in charge, and everyone knows it now.
Deviate from the standards and you won’t last long.
Also think he’s got the fan base behind him. Even on the losing run he “held his nerve” (can maybe give Rishi lessons in that), and the supporters stayed united behind him. We’ve not had a coach in a long time, where nearly all the support base was behind him as much.

I would hope he gets sacked!! Rishi, not Smith, by the way. This government is forever tainted by sleaze and they cannot go soon enough for me. Smith, on the other hand, is doing just fine. What could he have achieved with the 2016/7 squads? I bet Adam Pearson has pondered that one . Good to see that the article mentions a new line of outside investment, which is significantly bigger than the current one, which can only be a good thing. On the whole, we can get on with becoming a "proper" rugby league club, while our noisy neighbours fanfare their riches and signings, If Ashurst can be anything like his Youtube reel, we have a very good player coming in with real size, pace and power. Tindall may need some development, but Smith must like him and that is good enough for me. Sounds also that we are talking to a hooker from overseas- that could be any number of players, but if we can possibly get Connor Watson, alongside Hoy, Clifford and Truman, we have a spine that can strike any team, so from a bleak looking start, we are moving forwards, quietly and effectively., under the radar and with youth coming through..
