I am not a fan of Flanagan, he wasn't great at the Roosters and looks out of his depth at The Bulldogs. He does have a decent kicking game but gets caught in the headlights too often , for me anyway. Admittedly, the NRL is much higher quality than SL, but I'd hope for better to replace Jake.

Tbh I'm taking everything I hear with a massive pinch of salt now

The press seem to think Connor won't be here next season, until then we'll be linked with every half going. Think the Mole linked him with us about 6/8 weeks ago.

Flanagan wouldn't fill me with confidence either. Think he could buckle under the pressure if he ever came here.

Hopefully there will be some announcements this week of the new coaching/back room staff coming in.

Maybe after the GF if Davidson from Leeds is joining?

I think the recruitment is another area that showed not only Hodgsons lack of experience but a lack of rugby related knowledge in terms of recruiting above Hodgson, as to have a quota space free but be unable to use it due to being at full cap and to let a quality player go without a replacement is criminal, especially when you look at the current squad.

Think this again shows the importance of bringing in TS and thankfully Adam has finally realised that he needed an experienced rugby guy involved within the club. I think initially its likely we will see TS play a huge role within the club and be a Head Coach and DoR.

2nd row is where we are very weak and lack any real quality, Savelio great player on his day but big question marks on his body being able to make it through a season, Lane has had a very disappointing season and looked a long way off the player we'd seen previous seasons. Other than that we are then left scrambling with only the young guns to call upon. Even if we manage to sign Longstaff for me we are still a quality SR light

I still can't see how we are sending the same cap as this season.

Reynolds, Gale and Mau alone should be on more the 4 we have signed. Made some shocking decisions on recruitment last few years with Shaul and Houghton been the main ones.

I doubt it’d come to that much but could we be paying a bigger percentage of Evans’ wage next season? Don’t know if NZW were even subsidising any like.

Could be right, needs a good season, as I don't think we got value for money from him last season, be evan worst if we ate paying him more this season

I’m wondering if we’ll offer either Garrett or Maher a deal for next season with TS having signed them for Rovers.

Not think prop is essential as we have Brown, Fash, Sao, Satae, Evans, Taylor and Laidlaw.

Now if we release Evans or Taylor giving us alot more cap and a potential non fed place, then it would be worth doing.

If, and its a big if, Smith can get Taylor firing that would give us some scope to maybe move Sao to SR while everyone is fit. He'd certainly add some size and power to the position and he has played there before for us. Don't know if he could do the big minutes every week though.
Assuming we don't bring another SR in ofc.

If we use the bench properly (One of Hodgsons issues) than Sao could be spelled with Lane or Longstaff if he comes.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Taylor have a big season, last year of contract syndrome

If he does have a big season, then keep him on 1 yearly contracts.
