I guess we could have anticipated this a bit more. The amount of his Wife's friends that have flown over this year to spend time in the UK/Europe suggests that they were never here long term.
However, I would be disappointed if he didn't see his 2 years out. The post suggests that he will add 'depth' to their halves - here, he is first choice, guiding the team around
Think he may well still be here next year as he only seems to be viewed as back up/depth rather than a first choice as he is currently, whether the pull of home is too great time will tell. I'd understand him going back for 2024 to be a first choice half but not if he isn't seen a a first choice and only a back up. Hopefully the fact he's playing every game here and the role he has within the team will sway him to see out his deal and then reassess his options.
Problem is if the NRL come knocking its difficult to turn down especially in terms of the money they can offer compared to SL.
The thing is we always knew if he played well here he'd be in the spotlight of the NRL as he a quality player.
Seems Cowboys fans on the stampede forum mainly view Clifford returning as a back up.
