I'd have Lewis, but can't see it happening, more likely they would look to release Abdul if this Aussie stays, who will be on good money and is always injured.
If the pull to go home is too great for Clifford then we sadly can't compete with that however I'm hopeful that as he's enjoying his rugby here at present he stays knowing he is the starting half and he is an integral part and prefers that to going back home to be a back up not playing much first grade again. I'd hope he'd back himself and stay at Hull until end of 2024, continuing to improve to nail a contract back in the NRL as a starting half for 2025.
Lets be honest, HDM haven't run this story because they think he is going, it is as a reaction to the 'gossip' in one of the Aussie papers today. Easy content
It'd be helpful knowing the outcome of the TV negotiations for next year, a new deal with more money would help us know how much we can offer Clifford (and others)
The question is how much are the club prepared to pay Cliff. The bloke who did Clifford’s car finance obviously sees players wages. Cliff is around 200k (Mitch is only 24k lol).
That has him as our highest earner I reckon and it works out at around $380,000. I know half backs get paid a premium but not sure how much more he would earn as a squad player over there
