Back end of season Evans was immense. Bloke moved to other side of world and took some time to get going after a ban but the slander is ridiculous. One of the few players in our Side that wants to win. His offload game under smith with Truman and Hoy will be immense.
Lovodua was everyone’s golden child and now we seem to have turned on him for a few average performances out of position. He literally covers like 5-6 positions. In a salary cap sport that’s amazing as it allows us to run with a slightly smaller squad.
Not sure on moving Connor on. He was involved in 40% of our tries last season in a poor side. Teams aren’t going to let their best players leave this late on so we’d be replacing Connor with cast offs. Signing from the NRL is a lottery and there is no guarantee that a big name signing will play well. (Reynolds for example).
We’ve got Taylor, Shaul and Griffin all on the back end of pretty sizeable contracts we should be able to move them on and bring in 2-3 players without losing Connor
Evans wasn't immense, he had a great game against Toulouse away, part from that was no better than Solid.
I want more from an overseas player, has a good offloading game which got better as the season went on, but still think he needs to do more as an overseas forward. Over the saeson, I would say he is behnid, Sao, Satae, Brown and Fash. Add to this he bans and the fact he seems to get injured a lot. Missed alot of tackles back end of the season too, certainly wasn't immense.
Agree a bit on Lovodua, needs to find his position IMO, but as it stands with the lack of quality in the backrow and three other hookers, he looks a luxury player.
I'd keep Connor 100%, gives us next year to plan for his replacement.
