Would guess this is perhaps why we brought Staveley back from dual reg, with a view to him getting so.e game time for the rest of the season. I hope he does.

Savelio not going to Catalan. Whether he's staying with us i'm not sure but definitely not heading to France.

I've heard he us staying.

Think it's the right call on Griffin, 2 years would have been too much.

I hope the club explain why he has been released now, if it's to give Staverley more gametime or bring in a replacement them fair enough, but if manage to win the next few games, he could have been a handy player to bring back for the last 5 games.

On contract I'd definitely keep Houghton for one more year, be a really handy squad player, plays big minutes and rarely injured. Bring in another hooker still though.

Exclusive: An NRL hooker is attracting interest about moving to Super League in 2024.

rugbyleaguehub.com Long Reads understands Canberra Raiders number 9 Zac Woolford is in the sights of English clubs.

Woolford, the son for former Canberra hooker and Huddersfield coach Simon, debuted in the NRL last year.

The ex-Newtown Jets forward has impressed for the Raiders.

This season he has made 10 appearances for the Green Machine.

It is believed Hull FC are keen on Woolford to help solve their hooking woes.

However, the 26-year-old is contracted to Canberra until the end of 2023.

With another year to run on his deal, it is unclear how successful the Black & Whites’ pursuit of Woolford will be.

Hull FC are losing Brad Dwyer to Warrington next year, while Joe Lovodua is also expected to depart the MKM Stadium, leaving them with little depth at 9.

If Houghton wants to go around again I'd be happy for the club to give him a year he's been excellent for the most part this season, he's one of those where you don't know what you're missing until he doesn't play. Still need another top 9 bringing in, We've got some fantastic young hookers at the club in Balmforth, Hodgson and another whos name escapes me (Moy?), hopefully they will be slowly blended into the first team over the next couple of years.

Watching savellios reaction at full time yesterday he looked liked someone who loved being at Hull FC and hopefully this is a good sign for him staying next year

Woolford and Houghton would be a good duo at hooker for me, with Balmforth and Hodgson in the wings.

Speaking of wings, was really impressed with Ethan Ryan yesterday. Has he confirmed he is going to Salford, as I wouldn't mind him

Wonder if we're having a look at Luis Johnson from Rovers, big athletic backrower, young and British. Think Smith signed him for Rovers so must see something there. He seems to have a bit more going for him than Lane. Not a Rumour or anything, more of a thought.
