If the public of Hull vote to back Allam will that make his lack of plans any more substantial??

This is a similar issue to the vote on the EU, asking the general public (a high % of which aren't the brightest) to cast a vote on something they either don't understand, or that their understanding comes from a great source like the Sun, is ludicrous.

All referendums are decided by which way the media decides it wants them to go rather than the decision which is for the good of the public.

Agree with the points you make. Also how much is the referendum going to cost the people of Hull?

Probably a fortune, this may also be a ploy to try and get more people to turn up and vote at the local elections.

Absolutely spot on. Referenda are a colossal waste of time and money, and actually detrimental to democracy.

I wonder how this bit:

Earlier this week, a full meeting of the council backed a motion effectively spelling out the authority's position over the stadium.

The motion said the council was not prepared to sell the freehold interest in either the stadium or the Walton Street fairground site to Hull City owner Assem Allam without a "robust" offer and business case being put forward.

Sits with Uncle Harry's assertion that the whole thing was decided by Councillor Gerraghty?

I somehow doubt it. He's become something of an expert in answering questions that were never asked, while avoiding those that have been asked of him. Over the last week or so, I've sometimes felt I've been living in a parallel universe

St Helens and Gateshead fan.

You're only called FC, because you know football is far more popular.

You need to look up what assertion means. I've seen you use it a couple of times and each time had little substance if you're using it properly.

As for the section you've highlighted, it more contradicts your position than the one you keep trying to claim is mine. It also says it's a decision based on recommendation for a position, but doesn't say who proposed the motion.

These errors of yours probably explain why you need to make odd claims about my position in all this, despite me spelling it out several times.

The one thing I find odd is your continued assertion that it was Gerraghty who single-handedly blew Allam out of the door. Or have you changed your mind since then?
