See it in a similar way when Briscoe left to join Leeds. No ill feeling from me. More the club thats failed to meet his aspirations.

The club intends to announce a new addition to the squad soon, as plans for the new season continue to evolve.

Wonder if the new player maybe Hardaker? I hope not as don’t see him as the right kind of personality to bring in.

Gutted to see Jake go as he is without doubt a freak talent and one that has created so much when the rest of the squad and Coaches failed to deliver. Can’t blame him for wanting out as looking at our squad it’s hard to believe or see how it can be at full cap, particularly when you look at Huddersfield as an example. We really seem to have been paying over the odds with the squad we had.

At least it’s a new dawn and we can not now rely on the talents of Jake and at least it gives us some room in terms of shaping next seasons squad a little more.

Unless the club sign a couple of players with real quality and ability to fill the gap of Jake going I think it will certainly hit pass or membership sales, especially at this moment in time.

HDM reporting Connor could be out for 10 months. Maybe had a bearing on the release. Open up a big chunk of salary instead of having it wasted on an injured player?

Matty English plus a 7 would be decent business.

Been a brilliant player for us and has been a highlight in what has been an awful couple years for us. Credit to Hodgson for putting him at FB.

As much as I hate to say it, it sort of makes sense to let him go. If he really is going to be out for the majority of next season then maybe it is best to let him go and bring someone else in. Matty English is a good start, but we are now desperate for a 7 should Hoy be moving to FB. I will be seriously disappointed if we brought someone like Walker or Hardaker in and play Hoy in the halves.

Didn't think the way the club would try to spin this into a positive would be down to an 'injury'

The positivity balloon for the upcoming season has certainly been popped by this news.

Hope so. For me his signing assuages the loss of Connor and if we bring in a quality second rower I'd be satisfied with that outcome.

If English has been signed as been postulated, we could do with losing a prop.

Terrible if we have let him go for free.

Poor to not have replacements lined up, need to act fast to appease fans.

Good luck to Jake though, been a great servant.

Really disappointed.
