On the new stadium idea, a small one next to the MKM would probably be of interest to City for their youth and women's teams (similar to how Liverpool are using Saints ground) but even if there was by form of miracle the cash for it the Fair has a Royal charter and don't want it
If it's a takeover and AP is leaving, I wonder if there's a possibility it will be announced this week prior to the game? Give Adam the opportunity to say goodbye to the fans. Whilst he has his critics, it's important to remember that he has done a lot of good for the club in his tenure even if it's not ending in the way any of us wanted.
That would be ideal, while I'm fuming with him at the moment I also can't forget I had two of the best days of my life at Wembley.
I can't understand why we can't have a talks are in progress' details soon type statement, surely Mr Thirkhill releases speculation started in April and ongoing confusion will only dampen pass sales.
No one can deny AP gave us the greatest day of most supporters lives. Just think he’s had good intentions, but been let down badly by those advising him. Can see what happened when someone who knew what they were doing got involved (Motu Tony). McRae, Howes, Redford, Clarke and O’Meley have all done him a disservice in terms of recruitment, and no doubt wasted a tonne of money.

You’d think it would make sense whatever the nature of the deal to have it sorted in time for more certainty with stuff like season tickets, IMG grading etc. We really have no idea though who the potential investor or investors are though and what they want in return for the investment, any assurances etc it might just be a complex deal. The timescale was always the back end of the year supposedly.

anything with investment especially from thirkell whos a lifelong leeds fan & president warrants a caveat on top

what is the but in all of this ?
is he going to move hull fc away from the KCOM ?
I don't think there's any option other than extending the lease at the MKM there isn't enough time to design, fund and build a new stadium.
I see to recall the MKM got signed off in 1999 for an end of 2002 opening so 3 Years but that with the council pushing it. This time we'd be leaving a council owned ground and who's to say they'd be supportive?
And geographically there is nowhere else to play, even putting aside the centuries of rivalry the hours drive in traffic to Craven Park would be enough to hit gates. Apart from that you are looking at Donny or York.

i agree i think the lease will be renewed but if whats being said is true what is thirkells motive, is it just richie wanting a genuine go at being an owner and mould his own team or is it a genuine monetary motive

Sad thing is he started off on the right lines, if you asked me who is the best advisor possible in 2011 I'd have said McRae. That year we signed '10 internationals' was the start of the over hype. We got Ellis but the other internationals were just players who'd been named in an England Knights training camp.

We don’t know who the investor is. They can’t move the club if they don’t own it outright, but I can’t see anyone wanting to do that anyways.
We got a provisional grade A license despite underperforming for years and spending way under the cap limit. The reason why we might be attracting investors is that you could possibly reason that it will only take a relatively low investment to have us competing again as the infrastructure is mostly in place already, can’t see anyone wanting to spend millions and millions on a ground.

I don't have any issues with a potential new owner being a fan of another club. It could be that he fancies owning a rugby club after all these years and knows that Leeds isn't an option. He's seen FC and thinks we have potential. Similar to Adam Pearson back in the day when he was at Leeds United and bought Hull City. I think that it's fair to say that he gave it his all whilst their owner and there was never any questions about his affiliations with Leeds. So for me, there doesn't have to be a but and it can purely be something that is seen as a worthwhile investment opportunity. Time will tell of course. That's if it's even Thirkill that's investing in the first place, which we still don't know.
As for moving us out of the stadium, personally I would prefer us to have our own ground but I don't know if that's a possibility or not. Back when we moved in, everything seemed so perfect. A shiny new stadium, long term lease, good relationship with City and the SMC. Now everything feels so fragile and precarious. And the KC/KCOM/MKM has rarely felt like our home because of it.
