Re Chamberlain, I don’t get the negativity towards him. Yes we need quality players to move us back in to a team that will challenge at the top but and it’s a big BUT we had to stabilise things first. Chamberlain is here and will do the job that is required of him. This off season we will have been one of the last clubs players wanted to move to due the issues which as has turned out since the takeover things were far worse than most of us thought. We desperately needed to turn over a large proportion of the squad to try and kick start a totally different attitude, to do that you still need players to replace the ones that left. The player pool is was already quite small and with the late stage we joined the party in terms of recruitment most players of real quality had already sorted their deals. I’ve no doubt things will keep changing and should a player come up that meets what Cartwright wants in a player we’ll be in for them moving forward. It’s just going to take a little bit of time but we can already see that the club under the new ownership means business and wants to deliver success.

| Chamberlain was signed for his versatility Myler said I think ,And the way our players are dropping atm , that will come into play in the next coming weeks . versatility? does he sing and play the guitar and dance like michael jackson because having someone with his limited R/L ability on a three year contract is a joke

Huddersfield 8/11 Us 29/20 Wish I could back us with confidence instead of hope, but hey, it's been like that for what seems an age now.Train booked and a session in Huddersfield so will enjoy anyways.Always more enjoyable if we can bag a couple of points to take homeward bound.

Dave K.: Don't think Chamberlain is a big deal, he will hardly be a large salary and is non quota. Had we done better (and I know the reason why we didnt) and got Lam and Whitehead for example he would be a back up player. 3 year deal is excessive for a back up quality player. Holmes should have been 1 year deal to prove his fitness. I understand Myler had to get players in but still.

Ellam: Asiata, Ashworth and Amir all ready for Friday. Good news, we needed that. If we want to finish above Huddersfield this year, we need to be beating them home and away and those three go a long way to helping towards that. Looking forward to it now.

The way Chamberlain will silence the doubters is by performing well. That's the same for any player. For me, he's had one game, plus one or three games on loan to us. He hasn't looked anything exciting yet. But also I can't say he's done anything wrong yet. Long season ahead, let's see if he has any part to play.

Probably, but if we don't they don't sign and we are two more players down.We have seen how hard is it was to recruit.Holmes isn't working out, but there is still time.

Cuddleclub: TnT":1xuw1ilb]Has anyone seen stats for chamberlain against Wigan. I dont feel hes as bad as people make out but willing to be challenged on this[/quote:1xuw1ilb]
12 carries for 72 metres
11 tackles 3 missed
One error
And think he got taken into touch twice.
Yes not great but nor were many players stats. Just look at Wigans for the game. Seems to me that some fans seek out scapegoats. Don’t think Chamberlain is as bad as people make out. He’s no superstar but is a stopgap. So perhaps get off his case then go for Fash but make sure you go for someone7

No scapegoats here, just having an opinion on a player I don’t thinks good enough to be anywhere near a starting 13 in SL. I said it from the moment he signed and he’s hardly a stopgap on a 3 year deal is he, wouldn’t have minded a year so much.

Jeez, we get it, some of you don't rate Chamberlain. Is he on a 3 year deal, not seen it mentioned before on here.Back to the game, if everyone is fit I'd go with Moy at FB and Chamberlain (who is on a 3 year deal) in the backrow, Fash on the bench.

I can't see a win here. I reckon they will beat us by a couple of scores. The lack of decent defence and any threat in the centres and 2nd row will see us lose IMO.

Think this would be my 17 given the 21 man squad released.- Moy
- Barron
- Rapana
- Briscoe
- Martin
- Cust
- Sezer
- Ese ese
- Bourouh
- Aydin
- Lane
- Chamberlain
- Asiata
Bench: - Ashworth
- Salabio
- Fash
- Balmforth
Hoping there's enough there to do the job against a Huddersfield team that haven't been great themselves.

Could definitely go either way this one. Need to get off to a good start and do the basics well. Line speed was shocking against Wigan. Stood and waited for them to run at us for most of the game. That in itself is enough to swing the game if they do it again.

I would go with Moy at full back and Rapana in the centres. This gives us that experience in that position along with Briscoe that worked well in Perpignan.Only round three but it's a massive game. Win and we can be reasonably happy with two from three and back to back away wins. A confidence booster ahead of a tough game the following week. Lose and all the optimism after the Catalans game will be gone and potentially looking at one from four as I think Leigh will have too much for us.
