Are we the only club not to have announced a signing for 2024?

I don't think anyone should disagree with you on this.

Along with Litten our two best prospects are Staveley and Balmforth. The former wasn't born in Hull and the latter was poached from Warrington.

Abdull, Jez Litten and Lewis are the best players to emerged in recent years and have gone on to represent England and are at Rovers.

The last England squad name 40 players. There were no representative's from our team. That is shocking.

Hopefully the new regime will rectify this otherwise we have no chance of challenging the top teams.

Mr Pearson is the one person responsible for FC’s present predicament. He appointed all of the coaches, he was the one who did not respond quickly enough when things were not going well. He sanctioned all of the player signings. He has no one to blame but himself. Unfortunately he does not have the apparent financial clout of say a Ken Dave’y at Hudds to keep pumping money into the club.

Trueman really let the side down last night. According to people on here Litten has gone from being the golden boy from the academy and your long term future fullback to the whipping boy overnight. He did not have a good game admittedly but why pick on him when senior players did not turn up for the cause either? There is a reason a rookie might not rise to the occasion but senior players cannot be given the same latitude.

I was not convinced by Mr Pearson’s appointment of TS as some of his personality flaws became apparent when with us. He did start moving us in the right direction and I am grateful for that but in the end his ego got in the way of his decision making. Overall his signings were no better than average.

He may come good eventually but whether everyone remains patient enough remains to be seen. Last night would suggest that after taking two steps forward you have now taken one step back.

On Pearson not many would disagree to an extent and even Pearson himself has admitted to making mistakes along the way. That said he has finally with Smith brought in someone who can help support him and take the club forward.

On Litten I'm not sure he's become a whipping boy overnight like you imply, though he has been criticised by some for his performance last night which is the most part is valid. He is still very much a raw and green talent at SL and the criticism is probably down to how well he has done for us since coming in and covering for Hoy & Shaul. Think its fair to say he's having more games than the coaching team would like at this stage with him still being green at this level.

In regards to TS and your comment re his personality flaws it would seem they served him and his previous clubs very well as all clubs he has been involved with always improved under his tenure and he set firm foundations in place for the continuation of that when he left. Had we brought TS in during 2018 then I believe we would be in a totally different position as a club instead Pearson stayed too loyal to Radford and kept him as coach out of sentimentality of the 2 cup wins.

To say TS may come good eventually is laughable in some ways as his track record at other clubs (even your own) have proven that he gets improvement and long term at that, not just short term fixes. I don't think its wrong to say that Peters is benefitting from the ground work and foundations Smith laid and its something that Peters himself said on record.
As for taking two steps forward and one step back as a Hull fan I'd say we are at least 20 steps forward from where we were prior to Smiths appointment with almost the same squad of players due to the poor management of the squad and cap.

Was last night disappointing? Yes. Was it the end of the world? No

Given where we were at the end of last season and the start we had to this season while Smith got to grips with the squad and making changes to the culture, mentality and attitude etc at the club, I think it shows the improvement that last night was disappointing for us as fans. For me we gave the game away rather than anything. The fact we had and still have an outside chance of the play offs though slim just shows how much the changes Smiths made in less than a year have improved us. We've seen more improvement in this season so far than we have in the last 5 years.

Just my opinion but a crap game played by 2 average teams and the forum goes into meltdown. As an aside to last night, we ran out of interchanges with ten minutes to go, Huddersfield have under performed all season but they’re stuck with Watson an spent a fortune. We’re in a far better place than we’ve been for the last 5 years, the home gates tell you that, noisy neighbours going to Wembley dream of 12,500 crowds for a game against Cas. We knew this year was another season of transition so why all the gnashing of teeth, and disgruntlement at the lack of news on signings. Satae is a plodder, last night proved that, Dwyer, phew, headless chicken, Clifford, can’t see the point in him going to NLQ, going to be a bit part player but he’ll be home with his family. Apart from him who are these best players leaving?

Certainly agree that we are in a far better place than we have been since 2018 and the improvement and changes seen this season alone is more than we've seen for years.

The only player leaving that I think will be a big miss is Swifty.

And Clifford, even though he didn't have the best game last night, he still looked our main threat.

You're utterly delusional. Our best players are leaving Satae/Clifford/Swift and Griffin all will be elsewhere next season. Claiming Satae as a plodder, well if he's a plodder what are our other props. I'm not suggesting he's a world beater but he's the only line breaker we have. The back row is frankly the worst in the league. Our backs are ordinary, take out Clifford and Swift and they're poor. We have to replace these individuals and more with an equivalent or hopefully better standard of player, just to maintain our current standing. If we don't we will be in a relegation battle next season believe me.

I did acknowledge that TS had benefited us and am grateful for that. He did however take his bat home when he could not get his own way. He seemed to lose interest after announcing that he was leaving at the end of the season and results would seem to show that. His smiling, not really interested attitude in the press conference after the Toulouse debacle showed a lot about him and was the final straw leading to his dismissal. Managers and coaches in all sports have demonstrated that past success is no guarantee of future success. Many have proven themselves only to fail or have limited success at a new club. I do hope he is successful but not too successful as having two strong clubs is good for the city and RL in general. They say that you learn more about an individual in times of personal difficulty than you do in the good times. I hope you do not have to find out the hard way as we did.

We’ve probably over achieved in how we’ve played recently, and last night was a reminder we aren’t quite there yet.

TS needs some more resources at his disposal. Hopefully AP can manoeuvre the finances to give him a shot.
