Yep amazing isn't it, we lose all of a sudden clubs skint and in the poop, TS knows what he's doing I believe signings are in place for next season with 1/2 more to come. We will be bringing more academy players in which is good for the game and the reason AP pumped money into the academy system to save the club in the long run. Not much out there at the moment anyways.
For me the issues with recruitment in terms of additions to the squad seem to be more down to the slim pickings with non quota options and similarly with quota options and the big gulf between SL & NRL financially, rather than any cost cutting.
Which when you are in need of the number of players that we were & are it just exacerbates the difficulties and that was before we released Evans & Griffin and Clifford, Satae & Swift announced as leaving.
Its good to see that the academy seems to be bearing some fruits of the investment made which is a big positive for the club (clubs that currently haven't got a good youth set up may well start struggling).
I would say things from the outside don't necessarily fill us with huge amounts of confidence due to the number of unknowns with little news coming out of the club and the general landscape & state of the game itself. Whilst we may not be hearing much in terms of recrutiment/incomings for 2024 the club have know since even before BH left that a big recruitment drive was needed.
It certainly isn't the first time we've not known much about incomings and the ones that finally arrive haven't always tended to be any of the names mentioned in the media half the time.
If by the end of the season we are still in the same position then I admit I will be more than a little concerned.
