If Wakefield have offered him a big contract there's not much Hull can do apart from match or improve on it which they may be unwilling or unable to do.

Big wage increase and a lot less travelling. No brainer for the lad really.

We shouldn’t be getting anywhere near the level Wakefield have reportedly offered him, it’s why we are in the mess we are now signing average players to inflated/long contract’s.

Probably that 2020 recruitment cycle

Well Jones and Fonua were good on paper...

Mau'u put a shift in and would have been better in a better team. Swift came good in the end. Sao and Satae ok but a bit inconsistent (Sao more due to frequent bans) why we decided Johnston was worth a 3 year deal ill never know.

But yes there was a lot of hype around our 'most expensive squad ever' and I suppose 6th and playoff semi final feels like paradise compared to now.

Looking at OOC lists, it’s a very limited market, think I’d consider:

- Broadbent
- Yaha
- Laguere
- Seguier
- Amone
- Jack Hughes
- Oli Holmes
- Bill Leyland
- Partington
- Sam Stone

Not very exciting is it, maybe some others will be made available too. Also depends on how many quota spots we have.

Catalans after Partrington , I reckon Broadbent will stay with Cas if their new wealthy owner is going to spend some cash on the team .

Realistically I’d look at

Broadbent to replace Scott, Sam Hall and Qaraqare too.
Hewitt and possibly Russell but would hope for a better starting 7.
Storton replacement for Jack Brown.
Stone and Bourouh always impress.
Leyland looked lively against us.

Really gotta use the quota spots a lot better.

I read somewhere that McMeeken had virtually agreed a deal with another S/L club until Wakey came in with a massive offer and longer contract. Not worth getting into a bidding war even if we did have the money as looks as though Wakey are chucking money at players and that never ends well.

I'd sign Parcell if we need a hooker, type of player we need and looks like won't be staying at Rovers

I’ve missed Bullock off as well, be a steady signing. Think it was Oli leyland that played against us. Bill is the younger better brother who’s a hooker. Be good to sign a another hooker and slot him in at 7

I’m sure we could sign at least another 7 hookers, they could then play any position any time.
