I'm the same I think we need to invest more in the pivots salary cap wise, Mau isn't a game breaker or changer and is on a big wage. I'm sure we could get a Defensively solid second row in for much cheaper.

Don't suppose Carlos comes off the quota next season?

If the rumours are true, and we run under cap next year, the young players will get a shot next year by looks of it.

I'd have no issues with that, but if that is the plan, start to introduce them now into the first 17.

I’ve no problem if we go down the youth route. Bit of short term pain for long term gain. The majority of the support would get behind them I think. Might regalvanize some fans .

I agree, if the club come out and say that we really want to integrate the kids and persist with them, surrounded by some quality - the fans would engage with that! But then again, many on here were criticising the 'Club Hull' feel of things, and now they want loads of kids to play! Doesn't make sense!

Think the Club Hull under Radders was a different animal.
Right or wrongly, the impression was that he played his mates over younger players (i.e. Washbrook at hooker over Litten), and they had a sway over matters.

Think if AP came out and said we’re under cap, but we’re giving Academy players a shot we’d maybe get behind that. Backs to the wall with “some of our own” playing for us.

You've generalised that too much.

The club Hull criticisms came after it proved some wernt producing. I think its unfair to apply that to young lads coming through who havnt had chance to prove if they are good enough.

If 5 lads came through Hull born and did well, they'd simply not be criticised. If they wernt performing or very limited and not of the required standard they'd get criticised.
