| Quote Dave K.="Dave K."RBA definitely has connections at Hull and Rovers, so this is probably true.
As others have said, it's a real shame for Fonua to finish like this, but he form has just been good enough and to have a quota player on a huge salary who isnt good enough to get into the first 17 is a massive waste of resources.'"
It's been covered here on numerous occasions but just about everyone could see that it was a strange signing as we had enough outside backs but desperately needed another prop.
Like you say if true it's a sad way to end but lets not forget his contribution during his first stint.

| Quote Riderofthepalehorse="Riderofthepalehorse"Excellent summary, also instead of chucking the baby out with the bath water, we need some more smartness, a Ratchford/Tommy Martin/Mick Crane type player who could link it all together.'"
Smarts, or the lack of them, is part of our problem. This can be seen in our pivots and in particular Sneed. His variation is to kick early, often on the third, giving up possession and loosing momentum

A lot of us was happy to see him go, as he’d become a liability. Looked like someone was very astute in getting rid
but he returned.

Definitely, I mentioned Ratchford, but Leeds have a player Cam Smith, who can play this role, takes pressure of the halves, and adds that crucial smart decision making, sort of an old fashioned loose forward role, the inventiveness in our game has unfortunately disappeared. And sometimes just relying on the fullback to link up, isn’t enough.
Tony Smith follows a creative mantra, which has brought some success, he uses two hookers as his point of attack, with Abdul adding that sort of creation behind them.
We flog our forwards, then get our backs ball, but usually with no space, or time, so Sneyd usually has one option, kick and hope.

Really astute point. It's been the same for years we can see it and so can the opposition.

| Think the signing left the squad unbalanced as well.
Needed another forward really when we signed him.

| Quote Smiggs="Smiggs"Why did Peats end up on loan at Huddersfield?'"
because hudds started the season with just two hookers in AOB, and cunningham. (plus a youngster who was out on loan) AOB got injured for the season early on and Cunningham is pants. Money talks and moving on peats meant that a quota spot was available for leigh to bring in quota players.

| Harsh to judge Peats on his time at Leigh, I'd rather judge him on his time the NRL, the fact he played SOO and nearly 200 games shows he cant be a bad pkayer. Was also impressed with hom in the few games I saw him for Huddersfield

| Big news if Fonuas gone, brilliant first spell, but sadly not worked out second time round.
Did someone say he's on around 170k? Hell of alot of cap freed up, and the all important quota spot.
Tyrone peachy anyone? I'd hope we could entice Peachey rather than try and replace him with Wardle, unless we could fit both in with Wardle in as backup on a cheap deal.....

| I think Wardles a smart signing, a risk, but like Savelio (whose injury reckon was much worst) maybe worth taking.
Would be cheap and offer good cover in the centre and backrow.
This is as long as he is he isnt our main signing.
If we sign peats, we still have one more quota spot, do we use it on a prop or halfback?

I'd be surprised if Sneyd was moved out this season and I can't see him sitting in the stands so I'd sign another prop. The Wardle signing makes more sense now if Fonua does indeed leave.
The Reynolds situation is an interesting one. I like him he definitely gives the team a spark but at his age and his injury record it may be better if he decides to retire so we can look for someone else.
All this speculation about how we utilise quota spots may be immaterial if we haven't got enough cash.

No point if he's sat in the stands..... Played 1 game this season...
