| Quote pmarrow="pmarrow"Im far from worried or panicing in all sense. Its not the end of the world if we dont win trophies next season, whats important is the powers that be build for a successful period and not season. It was always going to be a tough job and in some cases rebuilds can get worse before they get better.
When you look at the most successful teams or rebuilds they start with a blank canvass of Quote pmarrowa good core of youth players then slowly get quality added into them. Its the only way in a salary cap sport.'" You look at Salford with the doctors money and qithout it you just cant buy your way to the top. It has to be done right. When TS took over KR he signed plenty of young players with some experience and its only now they are in a position to add genuine top quality players into there squad.
Given it will be IMGs grading next season it would be silly to just panic buy players , weve done that far too many times. Id fully support a season bringing youth into the fold with some experience and having more cap space for genuine players to be added in 2025.
This will be a slow process but if its done right im sure it wont be long before we are regular top 6 team again as opposed to a bottom one. When you think the club are keen at mentioning youth and the right players coming in, it shows the plan is to build a strong team rather then patch up the cracks.'"
100%. Get foundations sorted out first.

| Jake Turpin a name mentioned on social media. No clue of the source or it’s credibility.

| I could see the possibility. The Roosters have Smith, possibly Watson and Hutchison too.
He's a very similar mould to Houghton. Solid defensively and a big engine

| Smith being a wily old bloke . Has it ever occurred that none of these players we have missed out on are the real targets?A smoke screen to cover our real targets? Just a thought

Shaw confirming Clune signings for Hudds, would Russell be worth looking at? Young domestic scrum half, not sure he is creative enough, but is controlling with a decent kicking game?'"

| It would be a no on Russell for me, never really seems to do anything in a game when I've seen him, seems to be very average and an enormous downgrade on Clifford.

dont understand why the club keep feeding the HDM with snippets but dont announce anything themselves.
They should be using Hull FC live as the vehicle to announce any new signings, general discusion or important announcements before releasing to the media so that fans always come first.
That way they would get the majority of FC fans also having a subscription to FC live which if marketed correctly could raise a substantial amount of money

| if we are unsuccesful replacing Clifford with a like for like then maybe play a waiting game to see if Casleford go down and then make a move for Broadbent to play six and use Trueman as the play maker. We also have the option of playing Hoy at six if all else fails.
Then if we do find a playmaker halfback sometime next season as a loan or end of season signing with Broadbent we would still have a very talented, versatile and a player with pace on our hands.
If Jacob Miller has been here now 10 years would he still be classed as an overseas player on the quota?

Not sure that Trueman or Broadbent are the organiser to replace Clifford. I’m pretty sure we’ve signed a replacement, I was told last week that there were 4 quota and 4 uk players done and dusted (little emoji there because I know you like them) no names, not even Tindall or Ashurst? Also that Clune was all but signed up for Leeds, not us and Hudds obviously nipped in and offered more. I wouldn’t even consider Miller, he wasn’t right first time round. He’s older and slower, as you say, he’s been here 10 years and Wakey and Cas are his level.

With the quota players, It all depends on where you played your junior rugby. Miller played in aus so counts as a "non federation trained" player.
Think Leigh got around it with Lam because he played for someone like Wigan St Pats when he dad was playing over here

Again I’m not sure the club are providing HDM with snippets. I get up to date news emails, albeit offers from the shop but also match day reviews etc. because I’m a pass holder. When the club have anything to announce regards signings, I’ll probably get the news fist hand. If you want to be in the know, nearly said “the cuddle crew” get a pass, voila (threw that one in because I know you have a smattering of other languages oops another emoji, I’m on form today for an old fart.
