Isn't it make or break for him every year?
Maybe a harsh question here, but if he was again offered only a 1-year extension, how many think he would actually be prepared to make the break away and move on?
His Hull career of the past few years has been a tale of convenience, really. He's cheap and versatile and doesn't seem to want to leave, so he gets to stay if we have cap space left and no better way to spend it. Likewise he hasn't had to move, or face the prospect of the challenge new surroundings bring, and he gets to stay with his brother. The fact that he's still a point of much debate about his first team credentials and seems to have pretty much progressed as far as he's going to IMO means this situation is justified, particularly now we have other prospects coming through. Stay or go, I can't say I'd be too bothered either way with him TBH.
