ok so going off the posts we have the 5 nominees for the position of full back
1. freddie miller - played for hull from 1932 to 1950. he was famed for his kicking in general play and this was the era of the kicking duel which he used to delight in when usually beating his opposite number. captained the club for a number of seasons. signed for featherstone in 1950 at the age of 35 and played another 3 seasons for them.
2. arthur keegan - played for hull from 1958 to 1971. played 365 games scoring 31 tries and kicking 318 goals. also won 9 GB caps and 2 England caps. took over the captaincy from whiteley and kept it until his departure. signed for bramley in 1971 and went on to play until the age of 39.
3. paul woods - a fans favourite for his whole hearted displays and hard man style, woods played for hull for only a relatively short time (1978 to 1981). the welshman played in the challenge cup final of 1980
4. gary kemble - the kiwi replaced woods and became hull's no.1 during the successful period of the early 80s. played from 1981 to 1987 scoring 180 points. played in 3 challenge cup finals, scoring a try in the cup final replay of 1982. also won 19 kiwi test caps.
5. steve prescott - played 2 stints for the club, (1989 to 1999, and 2001 to 2003). made 107 appearances scoring 56 tries, 197 goals and 3 drop goals. career ended by a serious knee injury whilst on duty for lancashire in the roses game.

these are what i have come up with from the thread replies. however if you want to argue for a player to replace one of the nominees please state your case, and say which of the above he should replace. equally anyone else can counter argue this until we reach concensus (hopefully). i'll give it a couple of days for this to sort itself out but if you think george robinson, edward rogers, shaun briscoe or colin hutton should be included, then fire away
