I think the last few seasons have taught us all to be cautious or at least it should of, do feel alot more confident this year than last, as feel our facilities, off field staff and playing staff are streets ahead of last season. I said last year, we could do ok if the gambles pay off, unfortunately not one of them did and it was a diaster. We still have gambles amd need some of those to pay off, but no where near the level of 2024.

I do wonder if Smith gets another chance to coach, I think it would be a huge risk.

Don’t think battling for 6th is particularly wildly optimistic, maybe hopeful, time will tell.We could all see what was happening the last 2 or 3 years, but things have changed?

Stop living in the past peg.

FWIW money into a club is the tip of the iceberg. There is only circa £2 million to spend on cap and the less desirable clubs ie bottom half have to spend heavy to get their man. Jamie Peacock told me that his time at Leeds no player will be paid in excess of £100k and as they were winning this wasn't an issue to him signing. Jordan Abdull is on significantly more than that now as he was at Rovers. The younger players don't count on cap and your 2 marquee players cost £150k. Where money helps is the excess fees over marquee players. Asiata on £240k means only £150k counts on cap so the money men help with the difference. Attracting players is the hard bit. Rovers attempt to sign Dupree highlights money doesn't talk. He agreed a deal for 4 years at £145k and signed for Wigan for 3 years at £130k due to prospects. Hulls attempt to sign Lee Briers was outrages yet he choses a different club on less money. All figures quoted are known.

One man's pessimist is another man's realist.

What difference will wealthy owners make with the current squad? Are we going to bribe the refs or something?

Course they are, the voices in your head don't count though. Cristiano Ronaldo told me last week what he's on in Saudi and I'm meeting Lewis Hamilton later so he can talk through his new Ferrari deal with me

Think your post has a lot of holes in actual facts

And you know the Abdull is on significantly more how? I assume you must have been in on the deal or Abdull himself has called you to tell you?
As for Dupree what we do know of the actual facts, both Rovers and Wigan offered Salford money for him with Wigan offering more, both offers were refused. He then agreed a contract extension at Salford, an undisclosed fee was then subsequently agreed with Wigan and he signed a 4 year deal, not 3 as you state, so whatever Dupree may or may not have agreed before Salford even sold him to any club matters not one jot.

There's no question that Hull were and still are behind the top clubs to an extent in terms of being an attractive proposition in the here and now. Had Pearson still been the owner that scenario likely wouldn't have improved, however the new ownership and the significant financial backing Hull FC now have, will have changed the landscape significantly moving forward for the club.

Once we're competitive, no one is choosing poorhouse lane over the MKM

Maybe practice what you preach, all you do is post on here with poisonous little comments aimed to belittle everything Hull fc with boring little digs.

In a few years when we're back near the top you'll scuttle off back to your secret board (fingers crossed).
