| Quote Rock God X="Rock God X"If he has an opinion that he chooses to express on a discussion forum, he can expect people to challenge it, can't he? Isn't that what the board is there for? I've not seen anyone suggesting that finger nails are pulled out, or anything like it. The most unreasonable comment I've seen is:
"You are a complete muppet and you know nothing, the most ridiculous statement EVER,"
But you'll always get people making such comments.
By and large, the response seems to have been quite reasonable.'"
Hey hey that was me lol, and i stand by it, comparing someone like AP with a chancer like Wilby is the most ridiculous statement ever, fact and anyone who had dealings with or met Mr W would agree,

| Quote Panther="Panther"Now it's sunk in I'm really pleased with this news....it was about time for a change and at least the outgoing regime knew they could not rely on the loyal fan base to keep shuffling through the turnstiles for ever.
What heartens me is that Pearson has admitted he tried to make a move for FC as far back as 2002, so this is not some knee jerk reaction. That was literally one year into his involvement with Hull City so he clearly spotted the potential with FC early on.
If you look at what he achieved with the football club, he took them from a bottom tier sleeping giant into a premier league/championship level team - pretty much where they should be. Yes a few managerial hiccups along the way but you can't knock successive promotions. Plus he was ruthless with Brian Little, which I'm sure Rich Agar will be aware of.
From what I have heard about Pearson (through people who know him personally), he is a very savvy and enthusiastic salesman, I'm sure he will be able to convince top, top players to join us over the next few years.
Totally understand people's concerns, but there are risks involved in most business transactions and life in general. His statement could not be less vague if he tried.
A new beginning and I can't wait to sample the atmosphere on Sunday.'"

| So would you now prefer Allam getting the KC or having to traipse out to Melton?
Being serious - it looked to have gone a bit stale, and Pearson will inject a bit of drive and ambition. Fulfilling ambition is the hard bit, but you need it to even get started.

| I'm still cautious about this but until we see something to cause concern then he'll get my full support. Hope he's currently scouring the world for a decent coach

this is what excites me. As I believe pearson will get his man. How many times have we been in for players only to have the rug pulled from under us.

| Quote east hull FC fan="east hull FC fan"I don't mean to be aggressive (if that's what I'm being) but I'm interested in why you think this. I haven't really formed an opinion on it yet, but I don't see any similarities to back then and now.'"
The similarities are that Wilby was a stalking horse for the real money man. While Pearson is a totally different type of person by all accounts, he [icould[/i still be a stalking horse for Allam. There are similarities in the [isituations[/i rather than the personalities.
Having been through the Lloyd/Wilby fiasco I'm inclined to be extremely cautious about Pearson's takeover. I hope my concerns are unfounded and I can understand why people might be excited about AP's new regime. I do think that the irrational dislike many have for KH may be inclining them towards ignoring the potential downsides though.

| I seriously can’t decide how I feel about this. Upon hearing the news my initial emotions were ones of overwhelming concern, simply due to the Allam connection.
Having read the full thread I am filled with a little more optimism, but can’t fully shake the feeling of concern totally.
I just hope he has started as he means to go on and has “told us like it is” ie he is the sole owner and is not a front man for anyone and he is he to take us to the next level.
Here’s hoping that it works out for the best and any concerns we have turn out to be unfounded.
