'Thus I am tormented by my curiosity and humbled by my ignorance.' from History of an Old Bramin, The New York Mirror (A Weekly Journal Devoted to Literature and the Fine Arts), February 16th 1833.
I find the whole situation a but weird, surley the first conversation through the agent, allowed Rowley to say thanks but no thanks (i dont want to uproot my family). Rather than go through all the negotiation process with Rowley and Salford.
This happened with Watson and we made a huge error with the 2nd choice, absolute key that we don't make that error again.
Think it has to be an NRL assistant or out of work ex NRL coach.
As he is under contract, I think the first approach, by the rules, has to be to the club. ‘Tapping up’ and all that.
As somebody new to the role, I think adhering strictly to the rules was a good choice by Myler. Maybe he’ll learn how to make informal, indirect soundings in the future. The issue really is that somebody blabbed when it was only just put in the oven.

Unless Rowley has no agent.. Therefore they would have to approach Salford first. We need to break the bank,in my opinion to get Wane, Maguire or Holbrook. Signing a NRL assistant is a gamble, unless Myler can identify if the applicant has leadership and management skills in the interview.

Still seems to have gone too far and tool too long IMO.
Agree with the rest, need to make the right appointment, McNamara won't come, certainly not now after being 2nd choice. The also need to move pretty fast as the May deadline coming up and don't want to be behind other teams.

You know very well it doesn't work like that, no clubs follow this and go through agents early.
Obvs they want the best money they can get for him. So they reject the offer hoping we offer more, knowing we have investment coming in and are willing to offer more for him.
If we don't offer more, they get to keep their prize asset. If we do, they're quids in.
Look at Brodie croft, signs a 8 year deal then leaves, Dupree,l wants to leave , Salford say no,.reject offers then he leaves for higher price.

Just a thought
Could be and that was my thought yesterday?
But Rowley has more to lose than players although we haven’t had any direct quotes from him which I find quite strange?
