If it is the case that it's Rowley that has rejected and not Salford, then he can't have fancied it.
None of us know how the discussions between him and us progressed. It could be that he surveyed what was on offer on the table and came to the conclusion he wouldn't be much better off than where he is now.
If he felt that he would be having to lead a club, and more importantly a fan base, with far higher expectations than what he currently has to contend with, and he came to the conclusion that he wouldn't have the tools to be able to carry out the job successfully, then he's probably decided he may as well stay put for the time being.
There is also the problem of uprooting to relocate here, which is never an easy decision for anyone in any walk of life.
We have to face it. We are not currently a very attractive proposition for coaches and players looking to further their career. Myler's biggest task is going to be persuading anyone half decent to throw their lot in with us. He is going to have to somehow sell the club to coach/players that we are once more a club heading in the right direction, make our resurrection sound like an exciting project that others will be excited to be a part of, create a buzz around Hull fc which will entice quality additions to join us here.
If Rowley has rejected us, and rejected us fairly swiftly at that, then it must be that he isn't convinced that the club is back on the right track. I know that if I was a decent RL coach I would want some reasonable assurances that the club are intending to move in an upward direction over the next couple of years.
If we can't give those assurances to anyone, then we are going to find it difficult to appoint any one above Championship level to come here. Myler really has got a job on his hands here. If he didn't know it already, he does now!!!
