He was by his own admission overweight with us and it seems leaving was the motivation he needed. He played 54 times for Hull and didn't impress that often and didn't suit the clubs style, sometimes that happens.

Rovers didn't keep hold of Joe Cator...

Shenton is a good individual to have around the club. Good move by Hull.

Shentons a great experienced player but I didn't know his cv had coaching on it, nevermind head of coaching.
I get what some of you are thinking that's its good to get outsiders in but you'd prefer experienced outsiders surely.

I guess this doesn't count then....

Shenton has been learning his trade from mentor Darrell Powell at Castleford, where the 35-year-old has been heavily involved in several aspects of the Tigers’ coaching in recent years under the stewardship of the former Super League Coach of the Year.

His contribution included overseeing training sessions, match previews and video reviews – and was recently seen running the yellow coach’s jersey at first-team games whilst injured.

Shenton has a degree in sports business management and he is currently working on his coaching qualifications.
