Buoyed by predicting my first correct Hull result this season will go for a narrow Catalans win. Evans v Napa should provide a little spice to the game.
Trivia Alert!! The article by Bill Dalton on the club website has brought back memories of my visit to France in 1957 to watch Hull play against Carcassone and Albi in the inaugural European Club Championship which we won. Loved this trip to Southern France.
I hope this week in training, the coaching staff have been restructuring our attack, for life without Connor. Regarding team selection, I'd not pick Reynolds, if he is selected, then McNamara will instruct his runners to run at him all game.
My gut feeling, is that I don't have confidence in Hodgson or Purtill to change our attack system at all. Hope I'm proved wrong. .
I wouldn't play Reynolds or Shaul, with the squad I'd go with as our backs
Mcintosh Wynne Carlos Mitch Swift Lovodua Gale
Think both Shaul and Reynolds will play though
Last year we went to Catalans with a much more depleted squad and gave them a decent game, so I would expect the same on Saturday.
Could even play Lovodua, Carlos or JJ at 6... I'd rather play McIntosh or Wynne at 1, Mitch could play wing or centre. I wonder why, we always play our '6' on the right edge, instead of the left side, surely he'd get more opportunities on the left, also there wouldn't be as much defensive duty than the right side.

Wynne was poor at FB when he went there on Sunday, in fact he has had a few games at FB where he didn't look comfortable.
Happy for Carlos or Lovodua to play 6, not Johnstone though as only offers defence, nothing else.
I’ve said it on here before, without Connor in the side, I can’t see where the creativity will come from and that was evidenced last Sunday at Wakey after his injury. Gale seems incapable of stepping up and his 2 drop goal attempts were shameful. His leadership skills aren’t what they were plus he’s lost his head to brain farts when trying too hard. Reynolds is a passenger and the perennial aging Aussie on his last “holiday”. Wynne, Carlos or Griffin at fullback or centre, haven’t got the wherewithal to create. Unfortunately Swift and Macintosh can both finish but won’t get the opportunities without Connor. Mitch is a solid backup centre or wing but again little flair or creativity. Our forwards are good and can create a platform but again without Connor, who’s going to take advantage of it. The club obviously realised that we need to change the reliance on Jake but the changes can’t take place until next season. I can only see a slide out of the top 6, Leeds will gather momentum under Smith, Wire will surely wake up? Rovers will do everything to pile the pressure on us, don’t we play them twice more. Radford’s Cas would love to get one over us, and the Trueman rumour will add spice. Unfortunately this is a very pessimistic post from me, I’ve been branded a “happy clapper” I’m usually upbeat but I can only see our usual end of season slide down the table. God, I really want to eat humble pie after this post. I’ll get my coat.

Unfortunately I fear you could be right.
