May as well just scrap it.
Adds to the games death spiral.
Even by the low standards of decision making in the game its really has out done itself (if that was even possible) with the decision to have the Magic weekend at Elland Rd.
It is such a poor venue for holding such an event as there is very little in and around the immediate area to cater for the fans attending and a 30 to 45min walk from the City Centre. I can't see many fans hanging around for the full day and most will likely stay in the City Centre then get to the stadium for the clubs game then depart back to the City centre or home.
Unless the RFL and Co are going to have some form of decent hospitality options set up on the car park at Elland road with adequate facilities and seating etc not just a couple of street vending trailers, a marquee and portaloos. This is not likely to happen as the costs involved will deter them from putting anything of a decent standard on and in all honesty its likely been moved to Elland Rd for financial reasons more than anything.
Not a massive fan of the Magic Weekend but its one of the few successes in the UK game but this decision seems to be taking the game and an event that has actually been a success backwards.
The whole attraction of the event was/is that its almost a festival of rugby and venues such as Cardiff and Newcastle were excellent due to the standards of the stadia and the facilities in and around the immediate area.
Nothing against Leeds as I do enjoy a day/night out there but Elland Rd offers very little of what a venue needs to have for an event such as the Magic Weekend.
