Come on. At the time everyone thought Duffen was the best thing since sliced bread. The City fans loved him. The Mail did numerous double pages spreads about his commitment to the City and to City.

Even when warning shots were fired like the multi-million "Executive parlour" in the West Stand function bar, the fact that he didn't realize Hull FC existed until he arrived at the stadium and the abolishment of the International games (all and sundry (even fans on here) couldn't see through his lies about "can't commit because of Hull City's fixtures") failed to plack the blinkers from peoples eyes.

It was only when the full financial extent of the mess was revealed in the national press that people started to wake up.

And as far as Allam is concerned,a lot of the comments regarding mergers were in relation to his beneficial nature in regards to Hull's sporting teams ("i couldn't buy one club without buying the other" etc) and were taken out of context.His loan to Rovers was an example of that.Anyway,he'd be under no illusion if he tried to purchase the club of it's history,significance to the community and it's identity......but i doubt the previous regime wouldn't have held back in selling him the club on the back of some quotes delivered off the cuff during an interview....

Some of the paranoia exhibited on this board in relation to Allam is alarming.

Whilst I could see the point he was trying to make about fullback and loose forward, where it fell down is that he portrayed it as if all RL teams have only one gameplan. That's simply not the case, and our problem arguably isn't our predominant tactics, it's the inflexibility in moving away from our starting gameplan once the game begins. Last Friday was a perfect example. Looks like we'd trained all week to offload as much as possible. Then it vexed it down but we didn't think to change our approach when we constantly gave away possession.

Murdoch also wasn't helped when the presenter pointed out the inconsistency in what he'd said. He went from us having a quality squad to the tactics being spot on but the players maybe not performing them well enough. Well it's one or the other, mate. If the players and tactics were both top quality we wouldn't be as bad as we are.
