Tristan is obviously sitting behind Reece Walsh and even Selwyn Cobbo at the Broncos in the fullback spot. Despite that, he has kept his head up and worked hard at the Magpies and he has got himself a reward for his effort. I think he will do well against the Warriors.”

“Fullback is definitely his best position. Tristan is a very strong runner of the ball and his football IQ is good, too. He talks a lot from the back and he can see things unfolding defensively. He is not as strong as his dad yet, but he sees the game like a five-eighth, so he is well-suited to fullback. I believe he is a genuine NRL quality fullback and he gets his chance this week to show the rest of the competition what he is capable of.”

Kobe Hetherington:

“Tristan is probably the fittest guy at our club, he was in pre-season. I played Queensland Cup earlier in the year with him and he is one of those guys who kills it every game. We saw what Tristan could do in the trials, he slotted in at fullback and did well, so we are looking forward to watching him play against the Warriors and I can’t wait to play with him. He is everywhere, he doesn’t stop talking from the back and he won’t let you down. Tristan is always there when you need him, he is a freakish athlete.”

Be here for a year like Clifford

But based on that he'll be a class above

I've seen a lot of Sailor's games as regularly watch the Queensland Cup, he is outstanding. Agile, quick, great hands, deceptively strong. If we are talking to him, then very encouraged for next year as he could be magic and have a bigger influence than Kelly

If he's as good as he sounds then I can't imagine us getting him anyway. I'd expect Catalans to also be sniffing around (if they have a quote spot free) and between the 2 clubs I can't see him choosing us, even if we offered more money.

Think he is one of those players who sits between too good for Queensland Cup and not quite good enough for the NRL. Although when he has come in this year he has done well when he has played first grade, in a very dominate side.

Probably needs some regular gametime like Cliford, but a NRL won't be able to offer him that.

I'd rather have a 7, but would make an exception for a player like him.

I just wonder if it's public we're negotiating with sailor it means he's gone elsewhere, usually our signings come out of the blue

After reading these comments and the praise from the Broncos fans I'm coming around to the idea of his signing.

We could wait and hope that organising 7 with sufficient quality may become available but if there's nobody out there this might be a better option.

Full back is where he has played almost his entire career but from what I've read he has the skill set to play in the halfs as well and with Trueman injured he's likely to start there with Hoy with Walker at FB.

That's if we have signed him of course.

It's definitely a gamble but it may pay off.

I'd rather have a 7, but would make an exception for a player like him.

He is good enough for the NRL, but at the Broncos, they have some elite players in the positions he plays, which means he gets the odd call up, but not regularly.
He could easily get a gig at the Bulldogs, or St George, but they have both had a high turnover of players and coaches, relatively speaking and the club he is at are on the cusp of something special, so my guess is he'd either wish to stay there and be a part of that, or come to SL and be a big name player, rather than join a struggling NRL team. Having said that, TS will have to sell him something special to attract him, we are hardly a team bound for glory ourselves, judging by the last 5 or so seasons.
He'd rip it up over here, he has that x factor that very few players have and exceptional pace. Whenever I have seen him he adds something to the team and doesn't look out of place at that level, so here's hoping we have managed to pull this off.

I think our treatment of Clifford is massive for recruitment going forward. Players know that we understand the NRL is their goal and won’t step in their way if an opportunity comes.

Hence why pele has signed and sailor is considering us. I can see our treatment of cliff as the only reason a quota player would choose us over Catalan.

I can't say I know too much about him or what type of signing he will be.

Does anyone have any knowledge of him?
