Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

Where did AP say that? All I've seen is basically the opposite.

Would be delighted if we can keep our OOC players, esp Carlos. Let's hope our fans are in a position to renew come the autumn. Unlikely we'll be in the recruitment market anyway so hope the supporters can unite behind the squad and coaching set up we have in challenging circumstances. Disappointing we haven't had the annual Mally Walker takeover rumour though.

The discussions ground to a halt when nobody would make him a cup of tea. :(

Update on finances etc
https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/r ... ow-2894895

Hull are one of those clubs who revealed they would be applying for aid to help it through the crisis but - with no games now for more than three months - they say they are finding it difficult to get their hands on the funds.

“We’re still trying to find out how we get hold of what’s been apportioned to us,” said Pearson.

“It’s becoming a little bit of a painstaking operation. We don’t seem to be making much progress and the pinch-points are arriving now.

“We need release of that funding and, even though we have to pay it all back, at least it gives us some breathing space.

But we’re going to need a buy-in from all our stakeholders; players, myself, supports, corporates, everybody is going to have to play our part for the survival of Hull and to come through it as a competitive Super League club.

“We’re trying to find a way forward over the next 18 months while still challenging in a competitive league.”

The sport hopes to resume in August, although it could play behind closed doors until October due to government protocols and social-distancing measures.

Pearson sees that as being a crucial area in determining whether clubs survive.

“There’s got to be a way forward as promptly and safely as possible to try and get crowds in ASAP,” he added.

“The speed with which we can do that safely, is the key to the future of the sport.

“Our members and season ticket holders have been extremely loyal and so long as they remain with us we’ve got a chance of getting through this.

We’re all going the extra mile and everyone’s connected to the club from myself and the board downwards everyone has contributed to try and save the club.”

I think as Supporters we need to help if we can ?
Some form of fund raising would help our Club survive .

I think people have needs closer to home in all honesty, once furlough starts reducing in August the redundancies will only increase, I know a lot pf people who ahve taken payment holidays on mortgages, credit cards, loans, even insurance etc. and just spent the money, all of that is going to need paying back, nobody has yet tested the water with income protection insurance etc. (as far as I am aware) to see how 3 or 4 months on 80% pay and not paying the premiums pans out if the worst happens and you get made redundant. RL is, ultimately, a luxury purchase that quite a few wont be able to afford short to medium term, let alone donating money to a private business.

We may be euphoric and heading to Brid in the sunshine, but those brown envelopes will start to drop on the doormat very soon.

Leeds expect to lose £4m because their business model relies heavily on extra income from the stadium facilities, like I expect KR will 'lose' more money than FC because of cancelled concerts etc. It is the Ltd company that will incur the losses, not the 'club' as such.

Nobody has yet looked at the wider economic impact of Covid on towns in terms of vastly reduced (in some sectors, to zero) income, how many FC/KR/City fans are taxi drivers, hairdressers, plumbers, decorators, labourers etc. that do 'a bit of cash work here and there', undeclared income hasn't been topped up to 80%.

Some very tough months, possibly years, ahead.
