To be honest I was disillusioned at the end of last season with yet another failed season and the usual drop of in performance mid season which has become the norm. However I renewed as usual out of habit and as it was Hodgsons first season so gave him the benefit of doubt however this season for me has been a step backwards even with the extra time he's had to right the wrongs of last season yet the same glaring mistakes and issues are there to see in full view with no sign of being resolved or rectified.
I had hoped this season would be different, whilst I didn't expect to be challenging the top 2, I expected the team to be more like a team and performances reflect that and be improved. Sadly this hasn't been the case and once again the shambolic and pitiful performances after the mid point of the season are back.
After the Wakey game I decided that would be my last away game until things improved and then decided I would wait until the season was done before deciding to renew or not after the Huddersfield game but after the St's game I am now pretty much 90% decided on not renewing anymore.
Ironically it could be a Wakey game again that hammers the final nail in my decision.
Just don't see any change happening in terms of results under Hodgson no matter what players are here next season as for me he hasn't shown anything to say he is a capable Head Coach as he has got no improvement out of the players either individually or collectively as a group.

Another capitulation on Friday would be the final straw for many others I'd guess.

Is Powell seen as a poor coach now after his time at Wire?

Was Watson seen as a poor coach at Hudds last season?

Both have been backed massively in turning the squads around and player turn over. Hodgson hasn't had the same luxury, we are getting rid of them in dribs and drabs, the 2 above have done it in one season.

What I don't get is that things seemed to be going alright up until the mid point of the season. We had plenty desire and scramble in defence, even if our attack was limited. The wins against Hudds Wigan, Cats, Wire. Even Leeds away with a busted team.

For me it's too coincidental that the players have dropped off either at a certain point in a game or season when things go against them, do they just think fck it? We did it with Gentle/Radford/Last, we'll do it with this guy. They've proven that they can do it, and beat the top teams in the comp when we stick to a gameplan.

Two main problems for me about Hodgson

1) the really poor recruitment so far
2) the inabilty to curb or stop the indiscipline on the field

said it so many times that until he or the club put a stop to onfield indiscipline we wont win many games given the amount of penalties in key areas we give away, too many six agains and of course unenforced errors which we have to expect some.

Stick with us, we’re going in a new direction. It will come good and the future is golden.

Trouble is, Hodgson does not seem to have improved this set of players in any way. No identity in how they play. Interchanges and bench selection has been poor. What do we do, only judge a coach when he has 30 players only he has hand picked?

It feels different this time though. Supporters have had enough. Apathy has kicked in, which is worse than anything.
We’ve gone from two years of Covid straight into a cost of living crisis. People need alleviation from these worries and Rugby doesn’t offer this at the moment.

I’d happily walk away from a defeat if I’ve seen effort and entertainment. Now I’m just staying to the end to avoid the rush.

New direction? I would call it Fantasy Island
I think its a cop out and Pearson has nothing else to give after another coaching blunder

Has he had the cap space to make big transfers? As you say, so far, we may see more changes soon.

Our error count is pretty low. Think we're in the bottom 3/4 for errors. Same with penalties.

I'll agree its when/where we give them away.

The flip side is Saints have by far the highest penalty count and it doesn't effect them. I'd go as far to say they deliberately give them away. They don't mind giving a 6 again to get their line set.

Obviously they can handle the extra pressure/workload.

Does it come down to a conditioning issue as well as mental? We stayed with Saints for a (whopping) 20/25 mins on Sunday. Then fell away.

Had my say on the physio and conditioning at the club
Its part time with the main men running their own businesses. Not sure that works or certainly at this club it doesnt

Ill say it time and time again. Hodgson isnt the only problem here. The squad is garbage. The fact some of these players would see a third coach is absolutley diabolical. They are not good enough for a top 6 place.

Everyone is pouring petrol on the Hodgson fire but replacing him alone wouldnt solve the problem. We would be sixth at best.

Whatever happened to "In any kind of weather". If people want to leave then that's their option. However, in view of our famous slogan it does make them look slightly hypocritical. I'm as unhappy as the rest about the current state of the club but I won't be walking away. I've followed them since the 1940's and seen much worse times than these. Hodgson may not be flavour of the month, but for the time being he is our coach and we need to back him and Adam to get it right. Let's see what next season brings before we pack our bags and go.

Please go and preach that to the players.

They are the ones that go on the pitch and throw the towel in.

They are the ones that go on the pitch and can’t be bothered.

I can see when players are not trying.

How is it hypocritical to not want to spend money supporting players like that? They don’t deserve our support!

I used to go home and away every week without fail in the early to mid 90’s when we had a poor team and couldn’t buy a win.

But at least those players tried and deserved my support. Most of this bunch don’t.

It used to be unthinkable that I wouldn’t get a season pass. It was a regular Xmas present. There was never any question whether I would be there for every home game. It was the highlight of the week.

This season I’ve been to 3 home games and don’t miss it when I don’t go.

Its despairing reading fans comments that they are considering ending their support.
It’s not just players that fans support., it’s the club, the badge and history or heritage whatever you want to call it.
Hodgson inherited the squad, during that time he’s effectively had half of his salary cap injured or banned. Players on long term contracts etc.
Our spine has hardly played together
With approx 10 games banned this season.. ( that is a ridiculous amount of matches ).
The players are letting hodgson and the club down.
