Oh yeah, forgot about that. Slightly awkward.

The club severed up overhyped mediocre dross for almost a decade and I have no regrets over any comments I have made. If the team put in half-arsed displays I will criticise, if they put 100% in I will praise.

This season has been a massive, pleasant surprise, but not ever the most blinkered, most optimistic fans saw this season coming. It has inspired the fans again and I fail to see what benefit there is from the usual suspects on here dragging up old posts and threads to score points and start disputes. This club needs every old fan, every disgruntled fan, every apathetic fan and lots of new fans back through the turnstiles to grow and be a consistent Top4 force.

Sorry already beaten to it. Widnes won that accolade at the start of the season by members of the press. :D

I don't think this was the point tbf. More the overblown dramatics of "this is my last thread, over and out" then a few wins later here we are. Thankfully.

It's not just a 'few wins' though is it, it's finally a complete change in culture at the club. We are digging in and winning games we wouldent have done in previous years, games like Friday that was in the balance at half time, coming back from behind against Saints. The team are more determined, more consistent, bigger in size and fitter. I doubt anyone would have stuck their house on us being top of the league this year back when we were plodding through dead rubber games last summer. Most predicted a boost from the signings we had made but not to this extent.

I can only repeat again that im not sure what benefit dragging up old threads and comments has during what is a very positive time for this club, apart from to flatter a few ego's on here of course...

Personally I think it's interesting to reflect on. I don't think anyone was saying we would be top part way through the season, that's true. Equally most didn't declare they were done with the club in an "over and out" way because they could perhaps see some positives in recruitment and academy investment rather than declaring the club's death. Your post was designed to be emotive, so it's a bit disingenuous to be upset when having said definitively you were done, you're quickly back when things turn round a bit.

But there are many, many hundreds of this type of 'fan' at every club, in every sport on the planet. It is not news.
It is however mildly amusing when the glory fan ditches the club when in turmoil, then returns when things look rosier in the garden and claims the title of lifelong, loyal fan again!
