Which was exactly the point of the question I posed, he
could play, but whether it benefits the club or indeed the player individually is another matter altogether. Losing Kelly for the rest of the season over him breaking down mid game and not up to par would be tantamount to tactical naivety.
Sure IF and that's a very big if, he plays and we pull off a win people will say it was the right move but in all honesty playing players when it's not just a risk in the sense of how they go but also their individual well being. What if a player gets an injury that puts them out for 3/6/9/12 months or even one that ends a career all on coming back too soon? The risk is simply not worth it IMHO as I've said.
