Looking at what’s available in terms of a pivot my priority would be

1. Connor Watson
2.Fa’amanu Brown
3. Cust or Jake Turpin.

All those players can do a job at 7 or 9. Think Turpin is the only one who isn’t going to add a spark but probably best defensively.

Personally I’d be going for a back rower or electric 9 and trust the Tex & Truey partnership. Good packs make poor halves look good and poor packs make good halves look poor.

On Whitbread, I’m not sure he is an improvement for rovers. He’s a very good defensive forward but offers V little go forward and is injured a lot. Been good at Wakey but pretty sure he was poor at Leigh. Kennedy was improving for them every week as well.

Depends how long Trueman is out, wouldn't fancy the starting the season with Hoy and Smith, don't want a repeat of the first 9 games. Trueman is such an important player, be intrested in our win % with him playing against the full season.

With Trueman - Played 15 Won 8, Lost 7 = 53.33%
Without Trueman - Played 14 Won 2 = 14%

Goes to show just how important having decent halves can make to a side. Also shows how important/effective Trueman was/is for us especially when taking into account he's came back from a serious injury and in to a side that has a very small pack. Such a shame he got the achilies injury and Clifford went back home as those two behind the what is much bigger pack would have been great to see.

The majority on here seem a little underwhelmed about Okunbur whilst strangely bigging up our other overseas signings.
There's nothing to say Jayden could, perceivably, be the best signing of the lot.
Father Time will tell.

Becoming increasingly confident that we will end up with Connor Watson. The silence surrounding it all and him being a known target is similar to how the signing of Pele panned out. Not that I have heard anything, its just a hunch!

It does make you wonder given what Dan said in his article yesterday about the club having their primary target for the last overseas spot but now the challenge is getting him signed with other clubs beginning to circle.

I honestly still think there is something in the McMeeken rumour from earlier this year, and wanting to be back in the UK.

Would hit the 6ft4 figure that AP mentioned, and then the potential signing of Volkman/Watson/Cust would certainly change my mindset around this rebuild

I'd be over the moon with Mcmeeken amd Watson.

Fully expect neither to happen sadly.
