Got to say, all-in-all I’m quite pleased with the recruitment we have done. The only two that we might miss are Satae and Swift.
Satae- although he was great when he was on it, he very seldom showed his best and was a defensive liability so I’m not sure we’ll miss him too much. Swift- one of the best wingers in the comp- was never going to replace his quality straight away.
I think next year we’ll play an expansive exciting style, using big men to set the platform for our halfs to manipulate (hopefully). Can’t wait to see Hoy, Litten, Nu Brown, Houghton, Tindall, Macintosh running off the back of it. Think we’ll struggle in the second row position but it wouldn’t surprise me if Cator ended up one side and we so Lane find some form again- went off the boil when he had a kid. Also, fingers crossed one of the young second rowers we have comes good (or at least shows promise). Are there any more leads on possible signings? I know it was said the club are on the look out for one.
As you can tell, I’m a glass half full kind of man. Somehow managed to stay that way even though I’ve only seen two good years as an FC fan really, having picked up my first pass in 2007
Also like to add that, before our usual end of year capitulation (shock anyone? No me either), lots of us on here (not all) were quite optimistic about the direction the club was going in. Let’s not let the bad feelings of loss to fog the true picture- a squad that drastically needed changing because it was rotten has been changed. Not all of the signings work out but I think some could be magnificent.

Thanks for your one word reply to my post, really adds value to the discussion. Clifford would add value to any super league team but think our recruitment in the backs circumvents the need for a single pivot to pull us out of the sh one t.

Clifford's a huge loss, would love to have seen him behind out pack next year, would have been great to have Brown and Clifford at 7 and 9.
Satae for me was hughly overated, too inconsistent, one amazing game followed by 4 poor ones, didn't do enough work, will be intresting how he gets on next season, but think Ese'ese will be a step up on a more consistent basis..

Hoy should be fine- look at Jai Fields first season. Litten- will only get better given the opportunities to make mistakes- I believe you learn more from them. Macintosh- confidence player, which like you say he regained second part of the season Houghton- did you attend many games? There were many times his scoots from dummy half got out sets going. This will only improve (hopefully) behind a more dominant pack. Lane- has been awful but he hasn’t always been. Was a great line runner and hard worker. Cator- if you read what I said, I just said he could do a pretty good job at second row…

He doesn't go to games, Cator doesn't have enough to his attacking game to play in the secondrow, in fact I'm not sure Cator is good enough for SL, maybe as a cheap squad player, but shouldn't be starting for us next season if we want ti progress

I think every team needs hard workers who maybe aren’t necessarily world beaters. Especially in a salary capped sport, that makes sense doesn’t it?
