I didn't hear one person say about likes of Jordan Lane and say oh but he's a good boy .....it doesn't happen!

Players like Ben Barba, Albert Kelly, Michael jennings, sam burgess, Gareth hock, Israel folau off top of my head had off field problems but are great players and always walk in most clubs

Likes of burgess, jenning's were world class

You obviously choose to ignore the effect such players have had on the end of our most recent seasons then. That has seen some pretty good players sucked into a negative overall attitude in the squad. Gareth Ellis talks about it in his book and the way Connor instigated a lot of that and being at loggerheads with the coach and sucking other players into the friction. It's not about Jordan Lane, perhaps he is just easily influenced by more seasoned players who should know better, or perhaps as many think he's not up to it, that's not the point though. I'm just saying that It's about corporate responsibility you only have to look at Salford and Leigh and dare I say even Rovers to see how far a team can go on a bit of skill and flare and a lot of believing in each other. Alex Fergusson once said of his success in his early days at Man U. "It's not so much about the ability of the individual in the culture of the team but rather the individuals ability to be a part of that culture".

You say about last few seasons players giving up as ellis said in his book

Problem is we still have many of them players still here and they are the problem

Carlos, Sao, houghton, Lane, fash, cator, Scott, brown, Mitch all been here for 3 years +

Still 10 players still here

Do you expect the club just to be able to bin off all the above players and be able to sign suitable replacements in one off season? Houghton will likely retire at the end of next season, Scott, Brown, Cator and Fash are good squad players and Sao is a very good SL forward. The rebuild will still take at least another year until we will see any real progress imo, we have a great crop of academy players, once they're blended into the team we can hopefully build real quality around them.

Pete has summed up our issues perfectly. I personally find it unbelievable that some posters were trumpeting contract renewals for Griffin and Savelio, even the re-signing of Westerman. We are trying to rebuild a culture, not undo everything Tony Smith is striving to achieve.
Our recruitment has been shambolic since Motu Tony left, the good Manager's priority is to ascertain the player's the player's attitude off the field, this is how Alex Ferguson approached recruitment.

It's impossible to terminate every unruly player's contract financially, this would probably bankrupt the club, and also immediately recruit a suitable replacement- nigh impossible.

some of those players aren't unruly or disrupted quite the opposite but they have been effected by a culture that persisted within certain of the more dominant and outspoken members of the group. Tony Smith has kept a few he had to keep for contractual reasons and also kept a few who have the right qualities to thrive in the new look squad; you can't bin 20 players off in one go anyway, that's a ridiculous assumption for me, it will be hard enough adapting the squad to accommodate the high number of arrivals we have had anyway. in the past 6 or 7 arrivals have been hard to integrate at first.

My thoughts exactly when I read the previous post, Pete. The likes of Brown, Fash, Cator and Scott would run their blood to water with the right players around them in the team, hopefully that will be the norm next season. It’s a bit bloody hard to keep grafting hard, when you see others extracting the urine everyday at work never mind “professional sport”

Seen Leigh are now the front runners for Sailor.

Be a good pick up for them and would finish of their spine nicely. They'd have OBrian, Mellor and McNamara as handy back up too

Yeah he will be a good pick up for them, after seeing how long the Visa saga has dragged out I can understand why we turned our interest to Nu Brown.

I was replied to other poster saying about getting rid of players after they gave up in years gone by

All we've done is lose the better players and kept the average ones
