Think that says more about the times we live in. The kid is a quality rugby league player, the best in this country by a distance and yet many wish to see him fail!!

Agreed.

Fantastic player so what if he's got attitude who cares?? Alex Murphy was cocky but it didn't stop him been a great player.

The problem is I think that our competition is poor compared to the NRL and probably even compared to SL a few years ago. It's difficult therefore to tell how good he is , relatively , and until he plays in the NRL it's unlikely he'll be taken seriously as a player who is or aspires to be a "great" along the lines of those mentioned on here. Even playing for England against the Aussies is unlikley to prove anything because he'll be in a well beaten side. He's certainly entertaining though as long as he's not playing against us. His cockiness is annoying but it tends to go with the territory in players like him in most sports , lets face it we'd love some of that from an FC player.

I think many have got selective memories to how some former players behaved, the game has always had players with attitude ( the best usually do).

I think the top sides in the competition have improved greatly over the last 5 years or so. If yourselves had a coach like Maguire then you would be a top team. I would say there are 5/6 teams that have good squads and with good coaches such as Maguire/Smith/Brown can be contenders year on year. However I feel there is a good 6 clubs which have either declined dramatically or havent improved at all. These teams have been left behind whilst a few others have moved on.

hopefully from next season we can step up to another level with the addition of a new coach( ), not going to say we will be top 4, but beating the likes of leeds, hudds, saints and maybe wigan now and then would be an improvement, if not it will be the same again under agar the terrible
