I honestly sometimes think that I’d enjoy my rugby more at a lower level, watching a less talented team that gave its all each week.

The culture and mindset is just a million miles away. Some teams are spending a million a year less than us on the cap.

I wouldn’t blame AP in whatever direction he goes. He’s been let down badly one way or the other down the years.

If we want NRL props, Tom Ale, & Jackson Frei are available, and even if they don’t work out we’ll have Frei Ale next season.

Do we really need Featherstone in S/L?

Agreed, don’t need a parish of Wakefield in SL. Are they still planning to be part time if they came up?

Toulouse had already reached the pinnacle by finishing top of the league and unbeaten
The sport needs another well supported and financed French team with a first class stadium not another W Riding dump of a ground and a team with very little prospect of staying in S/L for more than one season even if they are promoted

When Catalan became the first non-English side to win the Challenge Cup by beating Warrington Wolves in the 2018 final at Wembley and then in 2019; the Dragons moved a home game against Wigan Warriors to Barcelona’s iconic Nou Camp; where they had a record crowd of 31,555 for a Super League fixture. So able to draw in such crowds who knows what’ll happen with Toulouse.

I think this situation is an interesting one because despite some Clubs arriving in Super league through the promotion system having big ideas invariably in the past they have with a couple of notable exceptions failed to stay up. Usually the gulf is just too much.

I honestly can't see Featherstone being much different. In addition the West Riding Club haven't made many friends of late really. I don't think that Featherstone with that after game party flouting Covid Regs condoned by their directors, when their fans couldn't even watch the game at all earlier in the season was anything but shocking r really and was a really bad reflection on the club and their directors. Then there have been a couple of instances of crowd trouble at their games this season as well and indeed so far unproven acusations from last weekend. Add to that their constant carping about the amount of games Toulousse have played against what Fev have played (although the percentage method was agree by them before the season started). and of course there is their complaints about playing the final over there when by the rules that all clubs agreed at the start of the season the final was played at the home of the highest finishing team after the semi's.

On the other hand the French team bring something new, fresh and quite exciting and indeed a quality squad if they make no additions. Its not good news for the remaining Super league clubs in the bottom half of the table if they win however as with the likely hood of 3 down next season, with their squad stadium and resources, they could well avoid the bottom three altogether. However I think personally they will bring something fresh and new to the competition.

On balance I think we will all be a bit surprised by how many Super league fans will be supporting the French team.

Toulouse now share a nice modern stadium with a very successful RU team.
Given R/L at one time in France was the major of the two codes i think they will pick up supporters from the RU club and become just as successful as Catalan and the possibility of larger crowds.
The exciting thing for S/L and France will be the matches between the two clubs. It will be like a local derby even though they are about 200 km apart.
my support goes to Toulouse

I will be supporting Featherstone. They still have their Freddie Miller gate as a tribute to him. Before going to play there he was the Hull FB for 18 years and was my favourite player when I first watched Hull back in 1946.
