4 or 5 years ago a Pearson bid would have been far more agreeable. As things stand it seems like another of Allam's chess pieces has been moved. If AP opens with an unequivocal statement of support for Hull FC remaining independent and a club in its own right, with a cast iron long term lease at the KC to back that up, then maybe I will change my opinion. I'm one for trusting gut reaction and mine to this news is total suspicion.
For those who seem to want to talk down the current board's achievements I would remind them that without this board and the decisions they have made there probably wouldn't be a club any more. We have underachieved even with two CC finals and a grand final in the last decade, however we are also profitable and on a sound footing. A change of direction on the field, if it happens, will not be unwelcome, but don't slag the body of people who have ensured there is still a Hull FC club to support.
I once ask Adam Pearson at a City Forum if he was interested in Rugby, he gave an interesting answer, NO!
He's a businessman and can see the potential to make money from rugby though. He can see, I hope (as most of us can), that if you get the product right on the pitch, everything else falls into place and it will be trebles all round in the boardroom. Currently the board are living off our loyalty and past glories. Murmurs on here and elsewhere say to me that that ain't gonna continue, so either they do something about it or cut and run. It seems that the latter is the choice.
I don't think he has a financial stake anymore, maybe he feels a bit surplus to requirements, one thing is for certain, AP will not be as secretive and aloof as the present board.
Is the press conference on the radio, does anyone know?
Think its just a statement Humberside have retracted the conferenec bit and replaced with statement
looks very likely, what i got told yesterday, is Pearson is becoming a little disallusioned (sp) with City, how true it is, iv no idea, also got told the players arent all happy with the takeover, this doesnt suprise me, they all must realise if this goes through, Agar is more or less out of a job!! Like some on here, the only thing that concerns me is the Allams, but for now ill welcome the news, people on here have been calling for the board to sell, now people have got there wish, they dont want it!!
This must be good news, but I want wait till the press conference at 10:00 before making any firm judgement . As yet we don't know board wise who's going to be charge, will Kath be still involved, I have always felt with her husband at Leeds and her as chair over us, that has held the club back, so a clean break and new ideas has to be good . Reserving judgement but keeping the Faith.

you can doff your cap if you wish, I remember these people didn't invest in Hull FC and were given the club for nothing, in fact, were given the club to save their own investment in Gateshead.
they have made no losses if they have sold for £3m, FC would be here, with, or without them.
