I'll always remember Mahe fondly but in hindsight we shouldn't have brought him back for his second spell. All the best to him at Cas.

As for Evans, not sure. Although my general rule of thumb is that forwards who come over with a big reputation tend to flop, and ones who are less exciting on paper often do well. I'd say he probably falls into the second bracket, so fingers crossed he follows that rule. He's experienced and should still have a few good years in him. Definitely can't be worse than Bowden anyway.

Just my opinion, really hope he is a great success and tears it up, but Hull must know that the RFL have upheld his big ban, so unless it applies to friendlies, and I am not clued up on that, he'll be unavailable I, think, until round 6, which is a concerning aspect, the season can be in tatters by that time and the pressure on.

He will have a five-game suspension hanging on his record should he ever sign another NRL deal.

Seems so, maybe something in the boozing rumour. I said when he left first time round, he’d be back within 2 years and was against his resigning. Good luck Mahe, they’re certainly getting the band back together, down Cas Vegas way. Got a feeling the show won’t last long. Think John Wells days could be numbered if it goes mammaries SKYwards.

Wells has already left to concentrate on his media career
