Re: TV Games - Not Hull : Wed Oct 11, 2023 6:03 pm
Will someone tell me what actual marketing do the RFL do for these events?Of course R/L fans will or should know about the Grand final on Saturday but given that i dont see any marketing of the event at all.
If you are not going to spend some money promoting the Grand final,C/C or magic weekend then you are never going to build on the current level of attendance.
The RFL is just jobs for the boys but what have the IMG media gurus done for the sport apart from a load of statistics and just following Australia with no promotion or relegation.
I would say jack Sh-t.
I agree the sport is primarily Northern based but you cant just sit on your backsides like the RFL do and expect the sport to grow when you dont spend any money on advertising and marketing.
When we have terrestrial tv coverage on channel 4 or the BBC unless you read the TV pages to see whats on then you dont even know the game is being televised.
They should at least be running some TV ads on Channel 4 a week before the game.
Employing a forward thinking medium sized marketing and advertising company by the RFL would have been a much better option than IMG who are just a big name but no more than a think tank
