Could be a mullering this one tonight. Wires and Saints to fight out the SL title this year for mine.
Hate to agree with the Sky herberts but when you've got someone who can hoof a ball like Austin its a massive advantage. The times we can only manage to kick on the last from within our own 40 to only the oppo's 40 invites massive pressure on our D
didnt close it quick enough then let all the arrivals from India mix with other Heathrow arrivals until someone pointed it out and they opened a seperate terminal to keep them apart a couple of weeks later but that was too late. Government has a lot to answer for this but seem to have dodged the bullet
India was put on the Red list before the Delta strain was identified as a VOC. Most of the travel in was by British citizens returning home, which you can't stop. What happened after they arrived home is the relevant point, and let's just say, It's possible the rules weren't followed by everyone, and leave it at that.

No, lets not leave at that.
India was added to the red list on 23rd April, but Pakistan and Bangladesh had been on it since 9th April. Bangladesh had the South Africa but not the Brazil variant and Pakistan had neither, India had both. It doesn't matter whether it was UK citizens returning or foreign nationals viisting, they should have had to isolate. The UK government are to blame. They put getting a trade deal with India ahead of public health,
The whole pandemic has been mis-managed by a Government that have put trade deals and awarding massive contracts to their friends above the health and well being of its residents. How people can still support this Government who's MP's have broken the very rules they are asking the public to abide by, and when they have breached them, not being held account for it to the same standards as it's residents, is beyond me.
People can say that nobody has gone through this before, didn't know what to do etc. is rubbish. In times like this, it takes leadership and decisiveness. Every decision has been 3-4 weeks late. It's been a sh*t show
There isn't really another option, staying locked down forever just leads to the country going bust and then how do we pay for the Healthcare then?
Its also harder to keep people locked down as time goes on, its human nature to interact. Id rather risk dying of Covid than spend the rest of my life sat inside bored.
There is decision to be made but one thing I’d like to pick you up on a country with its own currency and bank cannot go bust. Government money is just money in circulation. Too much can lead to inflation and that’s what taxes are for, too take money out of circulation. Governments deal in bonds and money over decades. For example in 1833 Britain used £20 million, 40% of its national budget, to compensate slave owners following the Slavery Abolition Act, it made slave owners very rich and was finally paid off in 2015. No one argued at the time that the country couldn’t afford it at the time. People used to know how governments budgets worked but under the Tories they persuaded people that governments money is limited and can go bust like individuals

Johnson "We've got the best vaccine roll out in the world"
Maybe so but due this governments world beating incompetence tens of thousands of people have needlessly died before they had a chance to be vaccinated.

Don't get me wrong mistakes have been made during the pandemic but we can all find fault with hindsight, but which country hasn't made any mistakes?
As much as the current government have things to answer for, who would you actually replace it with? Could you see any other party or politicians doing any better from the current pool of self serving MP's of any party? I can't and can't see having the likes of Starmer, Raynor, Dodds or Davy, Cooper, Farron etc would have been any better. They are all guilty as in times like this pandemic all MP's no matter what party should have united for the good of the country and the people they serve and put all political differences aside. Sadly they didn't, they all used it as an opportunity for political point scoring instead of working on the job in hand.
