Dont know how to quote so I wont even try but it was Wednesday 6th January 2010 at 12:33!! You had decided he wouldn't get any game time last season, would be away at the end of it and pretty much wouldn't be missed. Not sure what made you change your mind but glad you did!!!!

Whether it was Agar who stifled his development or that he simply failed to lived up to the early hype, I don't know. When he was released at the end of last season it was the right decision. However if Whiting had been released it would have been a terrible decision. He is a real 100% player and never lets us down. Hopefully he'll be around long enough for his testimonial in a couple of years, which will be hugely deserved.

Isn't it next year?

Have now read the rest of the thread, cant imagine him being compared to Jason Smith but also cant believe that it has taken people so long to realise what a quality player Rich is. From his first game in a Hull shirt all those years ago, as Hutchie says, I cant think of many bad halves let alone 5 bad games from him. Deserving of a testimonial next year and a player that will be extremely difficult to replace when he does call it a day.

Made his first team debut in 2004, so I presume his testimonial would start in 2014.

Just heard a little interview with him on Humberside, says he hopes to open talks with the club about a contract extension in the next few weeks but has not heard anything about any extension as yet. He very much wants to stay at the club.

Would be great to give him, Manu, Turner and Sharp 2 years.

Whiting's a future coach for me, seems very knowledgeable about the game and has always shown an interest in getting involved with coaching, be it with the youth ranks or outside of the club.

whiting isn't a player who never looks interested, always gives 100% even if he isn't the quickest of players! you would realise this if you saw him every week!
