LAZY : Fri Apr 10, 2009 3:20 pm
For the majority of our last matches there have been players who have simply been too lazy and don't look interested in the game, and its NOT good enough

Thorman - Passes the ball when receives and makes poor kicking decisions

Berrigan - Although today he seemed to switch on in the last 25mins and really up his game, aside from a few scoots from dummy half he simply collects the ball and passes to the first receiver. He is a top class player who has not been using his skill enough

Manu/Radford - Taking the ball stood still! Far too many times! Run onto the ball, create speed and momentum! its not brain surgery!

Hall - Collecting the ball in the in goal area and curving his runs/jogs out, then being dragged into touch. RUN STRAIGHT MAN! I think his runs from full back collecting the kicks are improving, but still his runs often look laboured and lazy

These problems arn't anything to do with the players' skill. We know these players have the skill, its just them using it! and when it comes to the last 15/20mins, like last week, we seem to choose to up our game and create chances.

NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!

The other thing that looked lazy/sloppy to me was the 2-3 passes that we put out that went behind the man and to ground.

I've noticed over the past few matches too that there have been passes thrown or offloads made and the receiver isn't even looking! And play the balls with nobody at home, or needs another quick play the ball instead of a one man up drive

It's simple things!

Our ball handling ability is an embarrassment.

A few times we could have been through on the break/half-break, but we dropped the ball

We Tickle was through and he dropped it, when the ball got passed wide and Whiting knocked it on etc

It's just switching on and looking interested and up for it!

I agree with your sentiments although not particularly the players you have highlighted.

Tickle has too many lazy moments in defence for my liking.

Graeme Horne similarly.

And our lack of BACKING UP and dummy runners is embarrassing

Players need to work as a team or get lost.

I agree entirely, sometimes when we finally do make a break, the player turns to offlad and nobody is home! but the thing is, we're used to it so it isn't a stand out ERROR!

and it is an error!

Players like Hall, Horne, Thorman should be constantly looking to back up players
