They can’t do any worse than our fringe players this season.

No issue with us signing lesser known names and players from the lower leagues, we’ve picked up some good signings over the years this way

I'd agree to a certain extent but not sure that a 27 year old will have much development left in him and if he were any good I suspect one of the SL clubs the other side of the pennines would have snapped him up

Have to agree with that too.
At 27 if he was any good for SL he'd have been snapped up long ago.
A squad filler for depth, better than our young fringe players but not good enough for starting 17.
The other lad the prop from Salford, again jury out on him. If he was decent surely Salford or Wigan would have signed him.

sometimes players go under the radar, dowes raynor from leeds, we let hodgson go, loads of others, admit at 27 seems a strange signing but the others are young enough to hopefully make the grade

Lets see what happens when they have had a full pre season training and we see them in action in pre season games.
That said their signings are not going to sell season passes.

I see where you're coming from but Leeds had a very strong team at that time and Dowes, Raynor and Carvell would never break into the starting 17.
We were shoite back then and skint and so took a punt on them.
Hodgson we only let go due to finances and the fact we had Houghton.

The fact Langtree is 27 and the other lad has been through Storm, Salford and Wigan systems and yet no of them have wanted to keep him makes me question the quality of these signings.

As others have said these signings look for all the world like reserve fillers. The two union boys are total unknown quantities, and find it hard to believe the guy from Oldham will make much impression. This is his first chance at the top flight at 27. You would think someone would have spotted something by now if he was a potential star.

The possible exception is Nzoungou. People have mentioned about him already having a few clubs and making little impression. But he is a naturally big, atheletic guy, and 20 is no age whatsoever as a prop. He might never amount to anything much, but he is the one I will be interested in seeing develop over the next couple of years. We all criticise Radford but if he knows one thing, its props.

None of them can be seen as poor signings, they arent coming to slot straight into the starting 13. But equally, they don't do much to build any excitement.

Looks bigger in size than Dowes and Turgut from the few clips tje club have put out and size is badly needed in the squad for the style we play.

SL isnt that strong of a standard anymore, if your pack is on top and your halfback is kicking well you can get 2 points against 3/4's of the league quite easily. Look at how Catalan improved after they beefed up the pack and added a halfback for example.

He's 27 and played most of his career in the 3rd tier. With 5 SL clubs on his doorstep you would have thought someone would have taken him on before now if he was good enough
