Looking back at 2016 we looked so much better with Pritchard on the edges and a fairly quick ptb, he just became used in effect as another prop it we looked so much worse for that.

Hopefully with Jones and Ma'u (upgrades to both Sika & Mini) we will use them on the edges and with an improvement in the speed we ptb and distribution from dummy half we can utilise the ability and size we have and really be a threat along with the wing/centre combinations we have available.

This should allow for us not to rely so heavily on the forwards to gain metres as we just end up flogging them to death in games and once they start running out of steam our game plan is FUBAR.

We were so close in 2016 the way we played early in that season and were devastating, with the players in the 2020 squad it is an improvement on the 2016 but we have to use the edges properly and not just as extra forwards.

We cant utilise our edge runners, as our 6 is playing on the right side, to compensate for Shaul's inability as a pivot.
Normally , the 6 plays left edge, 7 plays central, then the FB joins line to play on right edge. So the left edge backrower, wont get decent service, as there is no left pivot.

Some people are going to moan about everything that happens and is said in the off season.

Last season has gone, we have recruited well and Radford has proven he can win big games (I don't buy the style thing, as we played that style in 2016/17, but not many complained).

Personally I'd have changed cocah, but we have Radford, so how about we try and look at the many positves about our club and once the season starts then we can focus on the negatives (hopefully they wont be many).

I'm looking forward to next season, certainly more than the I did for the one just gone, I feel we have a team who should challege, if we don't then Radford will be gone.

I did, we played a lot of gash rugby then 2, we just got away with it more, with better players, a younger manu, mini and ellis, but we at least played with an intensity and a look of togetherness, that's gone and our tactics have been well and truly sussed

How about we let this thread go (for now) get behind Lee, the new coaching staff and players?

There may be time for this thread to come back, but now is now the time.

We have had two disappointing seasons (Could have been worst), but we have addressed the squad (Best squad since we started SL IMO) and the coaching staff (With more to come), so let’s give Lee and the team some backing rather than focussing on the negatives of last season.

I kinda posted in jest.
I am looking forward to the new season that's for sure.

We have some amazing signings. AMAZING.

A lot better than the shoite last year.

However if the average fan thinks this means we will win the lot then they are deluded. Players find it hard to paper over poor coaching cracks.

If all we needed was great players then why have a head coach or any coaching at all ????? Think about it

I have supported Cleveland Browns for 30 years, thick and mostly thin. Look at their roster for this NFL season. Amazing talent. And yet ?

The good news is they are looking at firing the coach mid way in his first season as iot's clear he's not top notch, good but not elite !

So ...YES I am always hopeful and positive re HULL FC

so, comparing the Browns, who have won little, to Hull FC who have achieved quite a lot?

The definition of an anachronyism.

I put my trust with the man who has his hand in his pocket. Do I like Lee, no, do I think he is a SL coach, no. BUT he is what we have. If I won the Euro, would he be anywhere near the club, NO, nor would Last, Ellis, Yeaman et al.

BUT I remember the days of not knowing if we would exist.

A toe in the past is akin to a foot in the grave.

LR is like an itch, you can't get rid, but the more you itch goes one of two ways, keep itching and it grows, ignore it and it might just go away.
