Lions Lose Close Encounter with the Kiwis

After defeats last weekends both the GB Lions and New Zealand were looking for a victory in the first of two tests between the two sides as the rugby league world cast its eyes to Eden Park in Auckland.

Both coaches made some changes after last week with the Lions promoting Jonny Lomax at full back and Tom Burgess at prop, while Michael McGuire shocked the home support by dropping creative half back Shaun Johnson.

The last time that the two sides met was in late 2007 when GB secured a three match whitewash on home soil, the only survivor from that last game, a 28-22 win in Wigan, being Lions skipper James Graham.

Jake and Josh pretty ineffective in an uninspiring GB performance.
Time to watch Mau now against the Aussies.

Connor never saw the ball mostly because just about every play the play the ball Hodgson moved the ball to the right edge but he didnt help himself with some pathetic tackling attempts.
We were better when Clark came on to replace Hodgson.
Jones just used as another front row a la Radford. If he is going to do that it would have been better to include Watts in the squad

I would have Hardaker or Widdop back to full back and bring Lomax into the halves to inject some pace.
Time to bring Grace and Percival into the squad

A fair assessment.
Josh just getting some battering ram practice in.
He can forget all about that cut back inside line he runs at Salford.
He's ours now.
