If we lose both games this weekend, as seems likely, that could be pivotal and I don't see Last surviving it. The balancing act of finances, fan loyalty, covid impacts, contracts, squad composition, coach availability etc are complex and nuanced. If we can navigate the pandemic and survive that will be objective #1 achieved IMO.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

Re: new coach : Wed Sep 09, 2020 8:52 am
I can't see fans being allowed back this year.

Even if they were, an 8k limit would, in theory, only allow passholders in, so the financial benefit would be nil, probably a loss.

Walkups are actually what the club needs to make some money, not all passholders would attend, but I can't see much money being made.

We may as you say Dave have to speculate a little to even survive!

Summarises RL imo, real challenge is attracting new younger fans to the sport.Little if any presence within the media, whose sole overwhelming focus appears to be upon football add to the mix the RFL ineffective inept operational structure a lack of coherent strategy to expansion we could be back to semi professional northern sport within the next few years.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Lasty revert back to his old position of Head of Youth at Hull next season.

I don't think Pearson will have a choice if we continue as we are, keep Last and it will hurt him financially a lot harder in the long run.

I still can't work out why he choose last over Purtill who has alot more first coach experience.

Last IMO would be foolish to take the job, he could have a job for life at Hull in some capacity, if he takes on the head coach job FT, I'm pretty sure within two years he won't be at Hull.

I think Pearson always had Last in his thoughts as an interim coach.
He knows we need a big name and well respected coach at the club.
The coaching needs change from top to bottom at all levels of the club so that the younger players at the club are aligned to the first team,
There is no room for sentiment in business.
Club Hull needs to be dismantled and local players need to perform to be selected

Well that would be ambition for you
Prepared to sit for seven years under Radford
Several months of Interim Head coach
Then accepts a job of Head of youth
Wouldnt surprise me

Last doesn't want the job he would rather stay on as assistant.
