Gareth Walker - The interest in Ian Watson from Hull FC is definitely there, but am assured by those I’d trust implicitly that no deal is done at present

Stand down everyone

With all the talk handing Ian Watson the head coach role at Hull FC, sources telling me that's a massive leap right now.

Said after the Cas game that the performance improvement was maybe down to the players knowing something - now its all becoming clear imo - despite denials i think Watson is ours - its all about legalities, contracts and pay offs now but they wont say that

If Watson signs ill buy a season ticket without knowing whether we'll get to see the team live as a show of commitment to the club

If it is true i have no doubt Jones will be part of the deal so no money is involved
Lots of questions though
Would Watson come without his two coaching assistants?
Would they make the necessary housing move to Hull?
If they came as a package where does that leave Purtill and the proposed move to coaching for Gaz Ellis?

Tbh i dont care - Ellis was a great player but that means nothing in coaching. Most of us want a whole new coaching setup so i want Watsons coaching team here not just Watson with the rest being FC - we need a fresh approach - this is our chance!

Talk of Matty head coming as his assistant.

Seems to be a lot of smoke for there to be no fire on this one.
Still think we’ll sell Jones to pay for it. Think Salford would rather have the money than the player. We also save on his wages, as well as Kelly.
Matty Head as well is too good to be true!

Maybe AP is giving the club the reboot it needs in the hope people renew.
Interesting times.
