I don't think people actually did start to have a pop as you say after he was sacked.
There were those who defended him vehemently based on his 2 cup wins and those who thought his 2 cup wins bought him more time then he deserved in face of some embarrassing performances and his record breaking losses.
Hodgson is under no pressure and he may not win 2 cups but the club will certainly be better off under his stewardship in terms of culture, processes and player development.
If Lee does get the Cas job, I wish him the best of luck.
We will always be grateful for those wonderful days out at Wembley but rightly so his time had to come to an end after that Warrington game.
We seem to have a much happier team nowadays.
