Out of Contract after 2022 : Wed Aug 04, 2021 10:04 am
I don’t have a list, but think a few pivotal players are coming OOC after 2022.
I’m sure Sneyd, Houghton, Fonua, JJ and Scott are all at the end of their deals. Maybe a couple more.

Whilst the numbers of OOC players aren’t as great as this year, there’s a couple of pivotal names in there.
I wonder which direction the club will go in? Finances no doubt will dictate some of the decisions made, but it could give BH some opportunity to change how we play.

I have a feeling that in more normal times, AP might be paying some players off to create some room.

All of the above list can go for me. Maybe a bit more charitable if Houghton is willing to drop his wages to reflect being a squad player and tbf to Cameron Scott he has barely played in his preferred Centre position and I felt he tried on Thursday.

Fonua needs to go now ideally, completely stealing a living and I've seen nothing from Johnstone at all.

Let all go apart from Scott, think he l develop well when we arnt so under the cosh.

Huge cap mismanagement currently at FC, we need Hodgsons contacts, get the cap under control and start giving out contracts based on performances.

Fonua
Mau
Houghton
Bowden

All on high or good wages, you could probably sign 6 players for the wages those 4 command and get higher quality performance and depth

Mau'u is an odd one in that he is putting a shift in but offering nothing special. I was expecting Willie Manu style rampaging runs. He may have to be sacrificed to free up cap and a quota spot for someone else

Someone mentioned about not getting “bang for our buck” with overseas players

I reckon if we could reset, BH would do things differently. We’ve had an unbalanced squad for years now.

With the current climate can't image a big changeover. Sneyd won't be going anywhere. Bowden masi Houghton Scott may well be offered up. Who knows?

Satae and Sao have been great singings. Faraimo and Mau'u do just about enough and its hard to find European players of that size. I'm prepared to give Reynolds a bit longer as Sneyd is doing nothing alongside him and its been a revolving cast of fullbacks all season but early signs aren't great. Its Fonua who has been the bad buy.

Edit: I forget Carlos isn't an Ull lad he's been here that long! He always a good performer.

I agree with you about big Chris and Ligi but lets not forget Chris was doing very little when he first arrived under Radford.
Whether that was because of lack of fitness or Radford not using him correctly i dont know but under Hodgson he is now one of the best if not the best front rows in S/L.
Faraimo has been unlucky that his contract was up a year before Fonua because had they been at the same time Fonua would have been the one to move on to create the overseas spot,Faraimo is just as strong, more pace and makes less errors than Fonua.
Think Mau works very hard but we will never see the best of his running game whilst Sneyd is the half back working with him.
Our problems are at half back, and at nine.Yes we miss Connor, and several forwards but we need to address the obvious shortcomings in these positions.
