Pretty damning comments from James Child.

It's a big worry the number of referees that have walked away from the sport. Good to see the RFL taking this seriously.

Sounds like a really toxic place to work. No wonder we couldn't keep hold of refs.

Fair play to Child for speaking out. Can see Hicks taking over from Ganson.

I think this is something that’s been going on for a long while. When Silverwood left the game he also made some damning comments. I’ve never been a fan of Ganson and the continual drop in standards in the officiating during his tenure as head of officials speaks volumes.
Hopefully the RFL will now take the action that they should have done a few years ago and dispense of his services. The game can ill afford to lose any more refs as it is without them being driven away.

Wow, awful read. I’m surprised James Child stood that toxicity as long as he did. Wonder if any of those officials who’ve left, would return, if and when Ganson is booted. Does his behaviour warrant legal action? Sounds like “Jack the Rimmer” has been complicit.
